bakagaijin (09/22/2015) [-] **bakagaijin used "*roll picture*"** **bakagaijin rolled image**The whole "respect thy neighbor" aspect of the country... I come from a culture of being loud and obnoxious. .. if your neighbor doesn't like it, then too bad for them.... do you know that during rush hour in the train (when they push you in) the whole train is completely quiet? You might hear a cough here and there but that's about it... and it's all to respect one another because some people are sleeping and everyone is courteous in that sense.... also I come from a culture where we will do anything for a tourist.... pick up a bag, help someone with directions, run errands for you.... all with a smile on their face and their hands extended.... but refuse to tip them for them doing their jobs (not waiters or bellhops, but store clerks and concierge) and see how fast that smile goes away.... I even had a restaurant owner cursing up a storm when I tipped the waiter and not him because he walked up to me and asked me how my food was.... in japan, people will help you out from the kindness of their hearts without expecting anything in return (tipping in japan is not customary, many people would look weird at you if you give them money) I've always been like that... I love to help people simply because it makes me feel good... and Im constantly rediculed by my family because "I would never survive back in the mother country"

anon (09/22/2015) [-] Your description makes it sound different from what you were asking. Do you full on think you're Japanese and then try to act Japanese while being shit at it? From the sounds of it you're a normal white guy who loves Japan. #218 -
bakagaijin (09/22/2015) [-] I'm fully aware that I'm white.... but do I think I was born in the wrong culture? Yea I do... and my wife says I sometimes act more japanese than her sometimes, idk, maybe ive been immersed in the culture for too long... she finds weeaboos annoying as fuck btw... and I've seen fedora wearing "nice guy gentlemen" here try to hit on her when we go to roppongi for a night out.... i love it when that happens because the nyker in me rubbed off on her and she figuratively tears them a new one till they are on the verge of tears.... kinda feel bad for them #219 -

bakagaijin (09/22/2015) [-] Well, idk about being defiant about it, but I do appreciate the culture... do I enjoy some manga? Yes... do I like the food? Absolutely... do I feel rediculous in a yukata? Like there's no tomorrow, but when it's all said and done I am indebted to japan for introducing me to my wife and and some of my best friends and accepting me into the culture with open arms... I do love japan and there's nothing that would change that... #210 -

bakagaijin (09/19/2015) [-] Nah, its my nickname from everyone in her neighborhood.... I'm from NYC and I have a tendency to make friends with everyone... so sometimes you see me with a bunch of salary men drinking till like 5am and basically being a obnoxious (but charming obnoxious) foreigner... so I guess you can say it's a petname....

| funny you should say that, I got my cat stolen by a random crazy cat lady some time ago. We're looking into getting a new one, and I vote Yes, you should. Cats can be friendly companions sometimes just as much as Dogs, ours used to greet us when we came in and curl up for a cuddle when we were sad, and bonus points if you get a playful one, even when they get old. | ||
