First of all, I was implying exactly what you were saying... op looks white but is really latino white and hispanic... different racetherefore causing the higher ups with their heads shoved up their asses to shit a brick when shown this costume... I'm saying that if a Chinese dresses up as a samurai same race the higher ups wouldn't have a fit... cultural appropriation has no room in holloween... the whole idea behind the modern version of this holiday is to be someone/thing you are not....

They don't really celebrate holloween as they do in the west, but those that do wouldn't give a second glance at that particular costume... implying that everyone in China would take offense to a kid dressed up as a samurai is kind of prejudicial don't you think?

Now, to the untrained eye, everyone outside of the race you are used to seeing can all look the same since you first pay attention to the obvious difference than what you're used to, and then when you are used to seeing them you pay attention to the minute details that other nationalities have over another of the same race... example: my JAPANESE fiancé and I went to my mothers home country of DOMINICAN REPUBLIC and they all called her "china" in DR, China in spanish is akin to asian (again, this is in DR) ans when we went to Sicily to visit my paternal grandmother, she also thought she was chinese... she wasnt being racist, but my fiancé understood that... now I have personal experience to back up my claims.... what experience do you have to back up your claim that a child would be hurt for dressing up as anything japanese? That bigoted way of thinking is obsolete and would make you look like a fool here in japan
