Thanks so much man. You've been a massive help. It's been a super hassle having to deal with people asking me to pronounce that with zero guide to help me. I'm actually surprised I'd even be possibly related to gentry even distantly...the family home my grandmother lived at was poor as shit.
Also Flower...truly I have the manliest of last names. I can't even cheat and claim I'm a Kwiatkowski like my uncles. My grandparents decided it would be funny to cut off the (kowski) part for my father and the youngest one.

How the fuck do you say Tadeusz? My paternal grandfather was Polish so I got a Polish middle name but he died while I was young. My grandmother is dutch and I can't understand a word she says so she's no help. I can't exactly ask my old man either and my mother says its pronounced Ta-day-iss but I sorta don't trust her pronunciation since she also says my last name Kwiat (shortened from Kwiatkowski) as K-wait.

So basically my entire life whenever someone goes. "Oh, how do you say that". I have to be like. "Don't have a clue, man."

Tadeusz is Polish for Theodore and it is pronounced (TA-deh-ush) HOWEVER, the "ush" at the end has a really different pronunciation than the English one.

Try to imagine this---when saying "SHHH" to quiet someone, your teeth are almost completely clenched, your lips form an oval and your tongue is almost completely flat.

To make the Polish "sz" sound, do the English "SHHH" sound but lift your tongue up so that the air escaping makes a hissing sound and you narrow your lips a bit.

Kinda complicated? Well Polish has more consonants than vowels...

Kwiat means flower, Kwiatkowski on the other hand is a very famous last name for gentry.
