i moved very quickly from Metallica to black metal (13 to death at 14 to black at mid 15)
you would not really call that list generic apart from a few bands that had to be named anyway even tho i do not listen to them because they are the reason i got in black metal.

i hate to think of you think of my taste if u think metallica and that sound crap :(

generic chart stuff makes me more angry and depressed than depressive and raw black metal does :/ which sooths tbh

Th1rt3en is badass. It had like cool riffs, solos, and meaning in the lyrics. Avenged sevenfold is alright but i suspected avengedvengeance to be a Miss May I kind of audience dude.

What happened to good music? Saying no to this is like saying no to metallca because Mustaine was originally in Metallica.

Asking Alexandria , TDWP, Parkway Drive, A Day To Remember and Of Mice & Men are all good but will never amount to the success of the metal gods.

I do admit, I like touchy subjects in songs like Morte et Dabo. I like that whole "evil" feel to it, I guess?

i really beg to differ ,i do think that metallica maybe is a little over rated but you cannot deny that there amazing metallica is one of the few bands that i never get tired of , sure they had a bad album , but it was really only bad for metallica standards and the only reason their so over rated because some people like to be posers and like them only for the reputation that comes with it then blow the amzingness out of proportion based on what others say.Dont hate the band hate the fans man.

The Ghost Inside was amazing when I saw them and having these bands tour with ADTR will boost their fan base a shitload since all the scene girls will be going for Jeremy McKinnon's beard.

Yeah they suck pretty bad. They have some decent creative elements, but not a very pleasant listening experience in my opinion.

My main problem with SOAD is that they are awful in every live recording I've ever heard. I'm not much a fan of their music either.
