There are some bodybuilders out there squatting, deadlifting, bench pressing and doing overhead presses with weights that'd put a lot of strongmen too shame.
Really, the difference isn't nearly as big as you make it to be.

For example, deadlifts have always been one of the most, if not the most, important event in strongman competition, and is widely regarded as a good indication of strength.
Let's take two Mr. Olympia contenders, Ronnie Coleman and Johnny Jackson, they both deadlifted around 800 lbs. This isn't even that far from the strongman world record!
And remember that most of the top strongmen are around 6'5 and both Ronnie and Jonhnny are nowhere near that height.

'Not real power' is nonsense, even when compared to strongmen.

I think of it this way:

The first guy was saying how we call animals dumb, yet we "destroy the planet"

but that's dumb. I mean not EVERY human destroys the planet. In fact, most of us can't do shit about it because our very existence is detrimental to the environment, and the people in control of it can't stop it or they get fired. I mean shit, we're using up all the fresh water in the world, but if any of the "bigwigs" decided to cut back on resources being used, they'd get fired/ousted quicker than the safety in Superbowl 48.

But these self-hating tumblrists like to point out how "stupid" humans are because we survive by using resources. The reality is, we're a massive population that has evolved to the extent that we can cure diseases and shit, so because of that "stupidity", we broke the evolutionary challenges that should have limited our population.

And in reality, no other animal species is anywhere near as intelligent as we are. The closest thing is a chimpanzee, which shares 99% of our DNA. Yet within that 1% gap is advanced mathematics and literature and science and shit.

Name all of those fucking 12,458 things. I can think of three: bad plot, bad acting, Jar-Jar. Please give me the other 12,455. The prequel had fantastic music, fantastic environment design, fantastic costuming and makeup, and probably some more that I'm forgetting, but that "one giant incoherent commercialized mess of all style, no substance" bullshit really rustles my jimmies.
#56 - auryn (05/06/2014) [-]
I'm not going to spend that much time and effort in actually doing that. If it wasn't already painstakingly obvious while watching the movies it's unlikely you'll catch my drift, it'd just be wasted time and effort.

What I can do for you, however, is copy paste one of my previous comments (a few comments above this one):

"I guess if you don't care for characters or story, are willing to ignore the many plotholes and the questionable, sometimes contradicting , character motivation, corny dialoque, the forced unconvincing emotional tone scale of the movie that's all over the place, cheap employed commercial tactics, basically if just completely lack the ability to discern you and you're a sucker for special FX and light saber action, then yes, you could call it a good movie. I wouldn't though

I'm a sucker for for the special FX and light saber action too, and they still managed to create this alternate universe that really speaks to the imagination, the score definitely had its moments, and I enjoyed parts of the prequels too.
But nowhere enough to be redeeming and definitely nowhere even near the word 'good'. Mediocre would be a compliment."

Also if you're honesly interested in why the prequels are considered awful you should watch the RedLetterMedia reviews of Mr. Plinkett on youtube.
The voice and jokes he is doing is just part of the character he's playing, but this guy really knows his movies and his commentary is spot on on a lot of points and especially the mayor points.
Plus it's genuinly funny, well worth the watch.

I hope you have some time because it takes him a couple hours to point out the things that didn't make sense or were badly done.

It kinda shrinks into insignificance compared to list of 12,458 bad things about the prequels, which include the lack of all essential elements of good filmmaking, and it being one giant incoherent commercialized mess of all style, no substance.

It's like finding a few minute specks of gold dust into a giant pool of shit and saying "Hey, this ain't so bad after all!"

The list isn't is hardly a "11 good things about the prequels" list, it's more like "The 11 things that could've been worse about the prequels"

indeed i was talking about Space and Time infinity. there always was and always will be. our point of view tries to give it a human comprehensive state, which asumes there must be a beginning and an end, even if it does not.
#124 - auryn (05/04/2014) [-]
Yes, the source of everything is completely beyond intellectual comprehension since logic is dependant upon the inseperable qualities of the universe: causation, time and space, and not vice sersa (and therefore logic itself is limited).

I think we pretty much agree.

What I tried to say before was that ultimately the entire cosmos and its infinite universes exist within a boundless timeless reality, but from the point of view of each universe there'd be a definite point of beginning in time and space. And that even though time as whole is an illusion, our perception of it is still linear.
