I can believe that, but it needs a certain ratio for it, the bigger the diamond the bigger the hammer so you need to be more clear because I am assuming that's what you meant.
Also diamond isn't considered brittle, breakable yes but not brittle. Brittle's definition is easily broken, cracked, or snapped. A diamond is in none of those categories.

I doubt that 'most Bronies' are depressed. Just because they have a hobby or a preference in media, it in no way shape or form means that they are suffering from depression. In fact, I predict it to be quite the opposite, considering that most of them are happy to accept that they are Bronies.
The only depression that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has caused me, and I imagine affects many others, is that...
...that it is so fucking awesome. Real life now pales in comparison. :<

I'm sorry to say this, but you are the minority. Perhaps you became Bronies because you were depressed, but that in no way means that the majority are.
The only Bronies who tend to make comics depicting their depression are idle cases, and few and far between. Read comment #160, which is just below this. I don't want to copypasta a whole wall of text.

Not on a regular base, but I have watched at least 15 episodes.
I do find it amusing to some extent.
I just noticed that apart from the target audience it does appeal to a certain type of person.
Ofcourse not every brony fits this description, but definitely enough to have caught my eye.
I'm not hating, it's just an observation.

Bronyism is a large, Internet culture. It's foundation and basis is on the Internet - a place where individuals can easily express views and opinions to the masses. Because of this, you often see people who are suffering from depression make a point of them being depressed, in relevence to My Little Pony. This gives the illusion that there is a higher percentage of people in the Brony community suffering from depression, since those tend to be the ones that stand out (because they ARE uncommon). In real life, many people who are a part of similar cultures don't have the capabilities to announce their depression, effectively hiding those statistics, giving the impression that there are fewer of them who are depressed.
There is no direct corolation between Bronyism and depression. There is no evidence to show that there are greater numbers of people who are a part of the community than any other who are suffering from depression than there are in the overall population.
I suggest you try to rid yourself of this false notion. Wrong information is useless information and is a waste of memory.

Actually yes, it is closed-minded to an extent to want to limit yourself in any way, even if it makes sense by the standards of society. I'm not saying "watch it, dammit". Just that people have a skewed idea of open-mindedness that just won't seem to go away.
The show was intended for kids and their parents, and the creators are aware of the adult crowd it has drawn in. They don't make it to cater to us, BUT half the stuff in the show that we find fascinating would go right over a child's head.
You like Toy Story or Pokemon or DBZ and you're HOW old? Tell me more about how MLP: FiM is intended only for little girls. (Not necessarily intended for the person I'm replying to, I just find the amount of closed-minded pricks is too damn high.)

As much as I agree that MLP is awesome, I have to bring up a point made to me by someone on another post. Just because we like something doesn't mean we should try to get everyone else to do it. Examples of this are drugs and alcohol. I have never done either, but I don't think that limiting myself in those experiences has made my life any worse. According to the standards of society, college students (which I am one) are pretty much expected to drink, do drugs, party, and get bad grades. I, however, fit none of these categories.

DBZ - blood, fighting, great story line
Pokemon - spawned multiple of the greatest gameboy games of all time, violence, and drama.
toy story - amazing story, one of the first fully animated movies, will be known for many years to come.
MLP - show designed for younger girls that he family could watch and not claw their eyes out. NOT intended for teenage boys to adulthood to "clop" over or worship like it is a god send.
#198 - thewolfrunner (03/24/2012) [-]
While there are those out there who praise MLP and practically worship it, there are a greater number of people who don't, and just like the show (myself included). Unfortunately, the most outspoken of bronies tend to worship it, and they are the ones who get everyone's attention and cast a negative light on us, while the people who are normal, and just watch MLP since they like it, are quiet, and no one notices us since we don't draw attention to ourselves. This creates a skewed perception of bronies as a group.
However, I agree with you in that MLP might be taken a little too seriously by some of the fandom. But then again, every fandom has that, don't they?

Haven't you ever watched a movie and your favorite character dies? Don't you feel sad? Or when you're playing a video game and the person you played as died or suffered a horrible accident? It's the same thing here. Yes it's fictional, but it's emotional. It's pretty much the point of games, stories, movies, etc.; to make you feel emotions.
