Why are you so bootybothered about it though? Like, a very simple solution for most forms would be "Male/Female/Other (please explain)" and medical documents could use "Born Male/Born Female/Other (please explain)" where "Other" could encompass the rare outliers such as hermaphrodites.

The condition showed is one of genetic mutation and is rare. This is not the norm.
All a male is, is an altered female, during pregnancy that is the difference, the y chromosome changes the set path of the X to create a male. First by stopping the female parts, then creating the male ones (hence nipples). In the first case, the subject would be female, as their body never acclimated to the y chromosome aside from the lack of uterus, and is formed a female, so, would be female.
As for the second, there are many conditions, diseases, mutations, or otherwise that can mutate the body, these are the exception not the norm. For these express few individuals, yes, they can choose which sex to "identify" as. But for the rest of us who are not mutants my previous statement holds true.
(I will not delve into the "mind and soul" argument of the author of the second link, as I have not the time nor the effort to debate such a topic)
#49 - auryn (02/27/2015) [-]
Ofcourse it's not the norm. That's completely beside the point and irrelevant to what I was saying.

Me entire point was that it's not entirely black and white, and that there are people who can't be biologically catagorized as either male or female.
The fact remains that ".your biological sex is either male or female, end of story" isn't a strict scientific truth, and that there are several exceptions to the rule.

Hermaphrodites? as in, both a penis and a vagina? and 1 in 100 people have this? Bullshit, that is complete bullshit I have no idea what misbegotten source you heard that from but that is completely wrong.
And, on a side note, if you have a penis you are male, as that is determined by whether or not there is a Y chromosome. No Y, no male, yes Y, a male. It is that simple
And you cant be neither, how could you be neither? Its a fundamental part of your biology, male or female, there is no alternative, and there is no absence.
Everyone is male or female. EVERYONE.
Unless you are flat out an alien species that reproduces Asexually then you are, in fact and in truth, male or female.
Also, a TRUE hermaphrodite is something that is a biological impossibility. (True meaning both organs coexist and both are capable of use, as in, a functioning womb that can bear a child and functioning testes that could fertilize an egg)
#32 - auryn (02/26/2015) [-]
(I'm not an expert, and if you're actually interested you should not take my word for it but do a little research yourself)

I think you're oversimplifying it, it's not that black and white.

It turns out that having a y chromosone doesn't necessarily determine whether someone becomes a male or not. www.isna.org/faq/y_chromosome

And to quote wikipedia: " intersex is a variation in sex characteristics including chromosomes, gonads, or genitals that do not allow an individual to be distinctly identified as male or female. Such variation may involve genital ambiguity, and combinations of chromosomal genotype and sexual phenotype other than XY-male and XX-female"

While true hermaphrodite (with both functioning reproductive organs) may not exist, you're taking out of account there are people that have no functioning reproductive organ at all while having characteristics of both male and female.

And it's not always just a simple matter of XX/XY. There's also XXY, XYY, XXX, XXYY.
A little bit more about it: allisonga.me/post/90114617299/xx-xy-chromosomal-essentialists-heres-why-youre-wrong

Now as I said before, I'm not an expert, and everything I just mentioned is what I googled in a few minutes.
But it seems there isn't a real clear cut well defined biological distinction between male and female, some fall in the grey area in between.

If I'm wrong about anything feel free to correct me.

I didn't bitch.

I tried to explain the fallacy in your assumptions.

Haha, that hypocrisy thing again, huh.

I need over 7500 more red thumbs to get close to that, so I've got a while.

well you obviously dont know funnyjunkers

if you ever paid attention to them. they largely bitch at anything that contradicts mainstream ideals of political corectness

in the case of this pic, providing the non-PC truth about race/species, the FJ kids would bitch about it being 'racist'

then again you seem to devote your time to ************ others instead of paying attention to them
