as long as this movie doesn't become a SJW fest, I am ok with anything

This is just a copy/paste from something I wrote in another thread:
By the destruction of the first Death Star, only about 1/3 were clones, the rest conscripted soldiers. By the end of RotJ, probably a whole lot less. This is 30 years after that, so we can guess that if there are still cloned Stormtroopers, they're not very common at all.

Humans are humans in star wars. Any Racism is usually directed towards aliens. The Empire wouldn’t give a shit about a black guy because he’s a human and not a filthy Twi’lek.
There is no cannon explanation to say that that a trooper can’t be a black guy. The reason imperials in the original trilogy were all white was because it was the 70s and it also helped to make the empire look like the Nazis that inspired them. And even then it was just the officers, not the troopers.
And maybe the troopers are good guys in this. Loyal to the New Republic the way they were loyal to the Old Republic. Or maybe there will be some Spec Ops. The Line shit where the republic turns evil and he has to fight former comrades. Or yes, maybe he’s undercover.

I would be so glad if the troopers were good guys... mostly because they'd actually be shown as competent soldiers for once, since apparently the bad guys' soldiers can't ever be good at things..?
It's even addressed in the movies themselves that the Stormtroopers are supposed to be some super-elite fighting force; "These blast points.... too accurate for sand people. Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise."

That it is. Although I do continue to forget about how that theory pretty much explains it all - especially for the boarding of the Tantive IV. It was a single point of entry, the Rebels were already on the ship and able to prepare their defenses, and considering that the Empire boarded using a TIE boarding craft there would have been about... twelve men in the initial contact, Vader included. The officers we see after Leia's capture were most likely brought on board after the Rebels had been neutralized. And the amount of Rebels on the ship would have been at least double the Empire's numbers, if not more.
Yet, the Rebels still got absolutely pasted by the Imperial forces. This really goes to show the force of the Empire, doesn't it?

True, by the time of A New Hope, most Stormtroopers would probably have been recruits - about ten years prior, the Empire stopped cloning as a result of an uprising on Kamino; they feared that the Clones could be turned against them. Only the 501st Legion remained entirely comprised of Clones, due to the fact that they had always been absolutely loyal to the Empire, and the Republic back in the day. Another reason being that the clones were still vastly superior to most if not all recruits in the galaxy, thus making the 501st even more of an elite force than it had been before. So, given ten years' time of age-outs, combat deaths, and new recruits being brought in, I'd be willing to bet that most legions in the Empire had almost no clones in them by A New Hope, if any at all. Making Leia's line of "aren't you a little short to be a Stormtrooper" pretty strange, considering that they would have been all sorts of heights by that time.

Actually her line makes total sense as the armor was a bit big on Luke. The problem was is that he is just a tiny bit short, and there is actually a height /requirement/ for many military. IIRC, America has a 5'9'' height requirement in order to join. I may be wrong on that.

When the empire was formed, the clone troopers were renamed storm troopers, but they were still cloned. It was not until later that the cloning process stopped and they started recruiting troopers. "clone storm troopers" and even the original clones still exist, albeit in limited numbers.
