Same tech, just refined. They're pretty close together countries, and Germany would probably want to get some money under their belt to repair.

according to Mercy's history, she "pioneered a breakthrough in the field of applied nanobiology", very much different than Medic's biological compound of piss, blood, medicine, and other unknown compounds that make up his healing beam. Mercy has also helped in the development of the biotic rifle used by Ana, which can be based on the Crusaders Crossbow, a Medic's weapon. Mercy also has a much different attitude towards harm. She follows the Hippocratic Oath of "Do No Harm", where Medic has a bust of Hippocrates that says "Do No Harm" and uses it as a blunt object. I very much doubt Medic had taught Mercy due to their big difference in ideologies, as well as being 100 years apart. If you want to make this crossover work, it would most likely be that Mercy had found the chemical algorithm that makes healing gun work, and refined it to a less piss-based design. She might have also used the Quick-Fix's ability to equate movement between its target and its base (follows targets that are either blast jumping or shield charging), and used it in the designs of the wings. This also makes works as the Quick-Fix is the first Medigun every created and is found in his laboratory.

You essentially went in depth with what I had said before.

I did not say that it was the same medical device, nor did I say that the Medic taught her.
I'm saying that it's very likely that after the original robot war thing, and before the Omnic Crisis, Germany or the Medic thought "Hey, we can make money off of this AND help people!" And so they sold it to other countries.

Using this 100 year old tech, Mercy went ahead and made a better version with its own version of the 'Uber charge' resulting in the restoration of life. This took a few tries, as we can tell with Reaper being as he is, but it's almost perfect now. Hell, we still saw off limbs that need it, and that goes back God knows how many years ago.

sorry for putting words in your mouth, but this discussion has been done before. and even the post is insinuating the heavy has somehow lived to be 150+ years.
The Medic had actually done a form of the whole restoration of life already with the Reanimator. but I can see where you're going with this.
although, the Medic is not very likely to have sold his technology, or help people. He took a job with the enemy for the funds to further his research when the money from Mann Co. stopped coming. Animal organs can't pay themselves.
