Wait, are you being sarcastic? He never mentioned that the old man said anything at all, only that he made a face. So he's assuming that old man made a face because they're a biracial couple which means he assumes that he's a racist old white man. He's basically assuming that the old guy is racist because he's white and made a face.
User avatar #43 - TheMather (03/14/2014) [-]
Dude, the old man was presumably black since he was shaking his head at the fact that the girlfriend was white, and not that she was dating a black man.
Thus the comedian didn't just assume racism because of what race the old man was, but rather had an actual reason to do so.
User avatar #44 - MrDeadiron (03/14/2014) [-]
You cant be serious.
User avatar #45 - TheMather (03/14/2014) [-]
If you look back at the content, you'll see the old man is only ever called just that. His color is never referenced. Thus it's appropriate to assume that since he didn't agree with the girlfriend being white, the old man wasn't white himself.
If it was the fact that she was dating a black man that he was disagreeing with, the comedian would've said just that, because comedians are paid to be good with words, not butcher them.
User avatar #7 - articvibe (03/14/2014) [-]
Yes he assumed one old man was racist that in itself is not racism thats a crituqe of an individuals character. If he had gone on to assume that all old white men are racist it'd be a different story.
User avatar #9 - MrDeadiron (03/14/2014) [-]
He was not critiquing his character and you know it. If he was critiquing his character he wouldn't have automatically assumed that the old man made a face because he was racist. He said that he thought the old man was making a face because they were a biracial couple. So essentially he's doing exactly what he thought the old man was doing and by that I mean being racist.
User avatar #10 - articvibe (03/14/2014) [-]
He automaticaly assumed he dissaproved of how much juice he was buying "thats the joke".
You keep using the word racist.... it dosent mean what you think it does.
User avatar #12 - MrDeadiron (03/14/2014) [-]
I used the word racist because the comedian used the word racist. And clearly the comedian did not automatically assume that man was frowning because if he had and said something to the man he would have made the old man's response part of the joke. So either he just assumes all old white people are racist (which is negative stereotyping, which is bigotry, which is racism)...I don't think you grasp the whole concept of racism. Either he's a terrible comedian or just the definition or irony.
#13 - anonymous (03/14/2014) [-]

Went through a rough period in my life where I forced myself to move out, dropped my girlfriend and tried living on my own. It did what I expected it to. woke me up and showed me that my current 'drive' was shit. But I haven't watched a webcomic since I moved out that day. You know you hit an all time low when you end up living out of your car for 2 months. That was before I could get an apartment though... It's been about a year now since I've been on my own. I can definitely say I've changed for the better.

Seriously get off your fucking high horse mate, i am not trying to be an arse hole here i agree with you, equality would be awesome, the fact that it is not happening the opposite is and it goes both ways, women that are able are being restricted and men get out out by having to needlessly help with restrictions.
Over here to join the army women do not have to pass the same fitness training as men which is stupid because the ones that can are the ones that should be allowed to fight, like men if they are not physically able they should not go to war, and it is all because of nut jobs that go off the handle with saying everything is sexist.

Simply pisses me off.

No shit women can be physically stronger, did you skip over OH&S or are you just a blatant liar?
Women are not allowed to lift or carry more than 18kg. It does not matter how strong they are because feminism has made it "fair" for women in the work place when it restricts those who can and rewards those who cant, talk about equality.

That is just one example, to be honest with you i am done here, i have read what you have had to say and contemplated it all, it is not that i am arrogant i am very willing to accept new ideas, it is you my friend that is the arrogant one, not to mention foolish.

I do have a problem with the word chosen for the cause and i do have a problem with the effects it is having on society as it is not supporting equality as it should, your observational skills are keen, I mean i have only told you that a few times, i have no idea why you need to tell me what i already told you...
What statistics, i am talking from personal experience, there are people who do the same job i do but are paid less because i am better at it, there are also people who do the same job as me and get paid more because they are better than i am. it is called a reward for being a good worker, you know, i think they call it a pay rise.

And yes in jobs that require any physical activity men do excel and do more work than women, by OH&S law women are not allowed to do the same physical activities as men, meaning when it comes to say lifting anything over 18kg they have to get a man to lift it for them. that is probably why those statistics exist.
yes occasionally you get the women that excels in this kind of work but you are kidding yourself if you believe it is not bloody rare.

Have you ever left your computer before?

You have a problem with a word because its affecting society?! Words dont affect anything they're words. Completely meaningless untill you apply some significance to them. In this feminism is perfect for reasons your very adamant about not paying any attention too.

Haha my superior at work gets paid more than me just because hes the boss' son and i can also say that some of the woman who work at my winery are alot physicaly stronger than i am because you dont become physcialy strong by being a man, strength is not gender assigned. You become stronger the more effort you put into it same as most things really. How is having a problem with the opposite of equality happening because of feminism a bad thing?
What feminism is achieving is not gender equality just inequality in the other direction, it would be like gay marriage being legalised and straight marriage banned.

If men can do it women should be allowed to do it for the same pay if they do equal work.
lets be honest that is the main problem feminism has with society at the moment.
You see the problem is men and women do the same job and may receive different wages because the one being paid more does a better job, the difference is men do not complain about their incompetence and demand higher wages with law suits and accusations of sexism.
#43 - articvibe (03/07/2014) [-]
... i said you had a problem with the word they're using to promote equality... makes you feel emasculated getting you all emotional.

Thing with those stats are that the significant portion of them are generated by mainstream media these fail to take into account hours worked during the time period in question which creates a large difference in earnings over the year, as men on average work more hours in a given year. But for the stats put forward by the actually feminist groups you would be almost right... in a perfect world where boss' recognized each individuals labours equally and promoted them purely on work ethic without any kind of biast then the men who work harder would definately earn more but those statistics are an average. Youve to to take into acount the lazy and dedicated workers across the sexes, men dont excell at everything by such a degree to create that much of a disparity.

Pssssst you went and vomited up someone elses opinion/excuse again try thinking for yourself.

I have met feminists and they were genuine human garbage, there are also the ones like the sheila in this thread who call themselves feminists but actually believe in equality, putting a title to something most people just do so you can feel special kinda stuff, i am sure you know all about that, sadly they are grouped with a minority of fuck heads, which makes it easier to just call yourself a god damned equalist as feminism implies superiority, i am sure meninism would receive pretty negative feedback.
how fucking hard is that to understand?
But go on oh wise one, your knowledge of my life experience is baffling.
#40 - articvibe (03/07/2014) [-]
Makes it easier to just call yourself a god damned equalist as feminism implies superiority. <-- this is what your actuall problem with not the people because lets be honest youve probably talked to someone who called themselves a feminist but really have had no contact with the actuall groups themselves. Implies superiority? No not at all it makes a few men feel emasculated to have fem as the prefix which is about as valid as the femi nazis trying to have mankind changed to be more gender neutral. Oh and for the record im not debating the breadth of your life experience im suggesting that you have none.

What i have learned from feminists is that all men are bigoted pieces of shit and anything a woman does to a man that should be deemed sexist is empowering to them.
Anywho... Who the hell are you to question how i research anything? you have absolutely no idea how i do my research as i have not mentioned it.

What group has convinced me that feminism is bullshit exactly good sir?
As far as i knew i came to that conclusion myself years ago, but hey you are the expert.

Instead of acting like you are educated why don't you shove a violin up your arse?

User avatar #38 - articvibe (03/07/2014) [-]
Youve learnt that all men are bigoted pieces of shit... going to have to disagree with you on that one, though there will always be the minority like yourself.

Group? no group in general the media and popular opinion are the main areas where your stealing your biast opinions. You can tell because your regurgetating the same failed arguments and i educated myself by actually meeting with feminists i dont need to act anything i am educated.
User avatar #39 - TwiztidNinja (03/07/2014) [-]
User avatar #41 - TwiztidNinja (03/07/2014) [-]

User avatar #44 - TwiztidNinja (03/07/2014) [-]

#46 - articvibe (03/07/2014) [-]
You have a problem with a word because its affecting society?! Words dont affect anything they're words. Completely meaningless untill you apply some significance to them. In this feminism is perfect for reasons your very adamant about not paying any attention too.
I have to keep telling you because your arrogance its making it impossible for the point to sink it, im almost impressed at how hard your fighting reason; almost.
No such lifting laws exist... and that statements not even sexist its just stupid, hell if i can get someone to do my grunt work id do it every time.
User avatar #74 - TwiztidNinja (03/08/2014) [-]
Seriously get off your fucking high horse mate, i am not trying to be an arse hole here i agree with you, equality would be awesome, the fact that it is not happening the opposite is and it goes both ways, women that are able are being restricted and men get out out by having to needlessly help with restrictions.
Over here to join the army women do not have to pass the same fitness training as men which is stupid because the ones that can are the ones that should be allowed to fight, like men if they are not physically able they should not go to war, and it is all because of nut jobs that go off the handle with saying everything is sexist.

Simply pisses me off.
User avatar #70 - TwiztidNinja (03/08/2014) [-]
Id reply to your other comment but the comment gods want us to stop arguing, you guys do not have OH&S in America? (occupational health and safety) OH&S states a male under 18 is allowed to lift 18kg, a women under 18 is allowed to lift 16k a male over 18 is not allowed to lift anything that is more than a 3rd your body weight and a female is not allowed to lift more than 18kg period.
#72 - articvibe (03/08/2014) [-]
No such legislation exists to my knowledge and i dont live in america. Seriously your welcome to try and prove it find me something official looking, the interwebs are at your disposal.
User avatar #71 - TwiztidNinja (03/08/2014) [-]
Like seriously that is bullshit, there is a butch sheila named sharron at my work, cunts about 100kg of viking power and she is not allowed to lift the argon bottles, even though she can lift them easier than 80% of the cunts there.
User avatar #47 - TwiztidNinja (03/07/2014) [-]
No shit women can be physically stronger, did you skip over OH&S or are you just a blatant liar?
Women are not allowed to lift or carry more than 18kg. It does not matter how strong they are because feminism has made it "fair" for women in the work place when it restricts those who can and rewards those who cant, talk about equality.

That is just one example, to be honest with you i am done here, i have read what you have had to say and contemplated it all, it is not that i am arrogant i am very willing to accept new ideas, it is you my friend that is the arrogant one, not to mention foolish.

And you dare question my research on the subject, you can not even get your facts straight when lying about your job.

#69 - articvibe (03/08/2014) [-]
Damn your really going all in on this repeating second hand information thing arent you dont even bother to look and see if what your repeating is factual because there is no legal lifting limit for either sexes. Do your research man some poor sap might read it and believe you.

Arrogant? Never you simply havent put forward any new ideas worth considering its laughably pathetic.
