To your first point, yes, true, it has a lot to do with germanic paganism.

Second, old religious texts and asatru ritual books found, as well as old pendants and wall carvings, usually show one of two representations. One of those is that tattoo. Also, that's my arm.

Third, Thor is also the thunder god, and it is said in some stories that lightning would crash on Mjolnir as he struck his foes, as when he fought the great jormungandr.

I don't want in any way that it would be prohibited to make movies like this, at all. I just wish movies around norse mythology wouldn't suck so muc, or even more: that movies about comics don't suck so much. the only movie based on a comic that i enjoyed was V for Vendetta.

you do realise that what most people understand to be north mythology is fan fiction based on a series of glamorised plays written in the 1800's right.

Its would be pretty ahrd to make real north mythology appeal to the general public when most fans or at least people who are mildly interested in the subject cant make their way through the prose edda. though i would recomend u track one down its an... interesting read

I know, but it's a shame they "rape" these characters. It's a part of european heritage. If they bas etheir characters on the norse gods, but give them other names, i wouldn't have any problems with it. Ah well. not like my little rant is going to change anything anyway :p
