Hazing is literally to punish in some manner just for the sake of it. Usually done to boots because "Fuck those dumb ass boots are actually doing it hahaha!!" Even though they would get legally punished for rejecting a direct order from a superior, even though the order is horse shit hazing.

Because a fuckload of people have died from hazing in recent years not Marines specifically, hazing in general. It's not allowed in any schools or sports teams anymore, there was a group of kids who made the freshmen Hockey team go skating in just skates at a private school up by me and they got expelled

Marine Corps is cracking down on that shit hard. We can still make em write 5000 word essays on why cow shit dont taste right but we cant fuck their room up or belittle them in anyway anymore.
