devilicious (12/16/2015) [-]  With the tablet, aside from changing the sensitivity, the program can help too... idk what programs you like but I prefer SAI for sketching, it makes the best line of all the programs I've tested and it has many Stabilizers options, manga studio does the work too but is not the same. I'm really curious btw how you draw? can you share some with the board? uhh i made my little avatar up there, here ill turn some shit to jpgs and ill post em  I can see the improvement tho! how you manage to make the forms with less line as you progress, you're certainly getting better. that last message, where is your courage? the only way for you to not get there, is if you stop now Thank you for saying so. Sometimes i think that my head is the only thing in my way, but i don't want to believe that because its hard to change what one subconsciously thinks about one's self. anon (12/16/2015) [-] Thicker lines are ALWAYS more forgiving, this is why cartoons use them a lot. You should use thick lines for sketching as it gives you more choice in where to put your final linework. Maybe is how you're holding it? there are few tips of comfortable positions to hold your pencil, it can vary even if you change how close to the tip you're holding it. Or maybe is the technique, for me, making one long or straight line in one stroke is still difficult, so I make several lines and then shape the perfect one with the eraser, is time consuming but after studying professional sketches I realized that is not that they make it smooth in one go, is that because they don't share the full size that you can't tell in small details how they use the same method I'm using. I've tried holding it mulitple different ways, tripod, overhand, underhand, using from the shoulder, from the wrist. I think i have those basically down. when im on the tablet its just like my pencil slides too much. as for technique i always thought this may be it but ive had problems here as well. However, what ive had the most succes with is not lifting the pencil off the page too much and lightly sketching without going over the lines too much either. This results in etchy lines but the pictures turn out great. I've tried thte quick lines with barely touching the page and those never seem to wield great results. #79583 -
