Whilst most farm raised animals are kept cooped up and fed crap for their entire lives. Different people have different reasons for their eating habits, many people just don't eat beef chicken or pork because it is a fatty food and can be unhealthy if you eat too much of it I myself am not vegetarian, I'm just presenting a different view And I also agree with you, if you rationalize that fish aren't intelligent and therefor okay to eat, you should be ground up in a blender and fed to the intelligent animals you so love  #15 -

And I'll agree, farm animals are kept cooped up and fed crap for their entire lives (they probably wouldn't know any better but that doesn't justify it). Though I do think the idea of 'people not eating beef, chicken or pork because it is fatty food and unhealthy if you eat to much of it' is stupid. Too much of anything is unhealthy (including fish), the truth is these kind of meats have necessary nutrients and are actually quite lean when taken from the right part (i.e the breast instead of the thigh) and prepared properly.  #13 -
banjofrank (08/23/2011) [-] It was a common theory for a long time also that fish do not feel pain, which provides a convenient loophole for veggie-folk. They can absolve themselves of their moral guilt in causing an animal pain if the animal can't feel pain. I believe scientists proved that they definitely do have pain receptors, but it only happened around 2003. I'm with you though... Give me a bacon sammich and shut the fuck up.
