there has, however, been a proposal to make small scale thorium reactors and put them underground under neighborhoods to power them, would be a lot safer since you could make them too small to go critical and underground would mean nobody can fuck with them

You cannot run a car on thorium(practically); you get energy from thorium through the heat it releases. You would have to essentially have a giant reactor to be able to harvest any energy from it, BUT thorium IS the most feasible energy source we have at the moment, so you do have the right idea! You should check this website out, though! It'll shed a little more light on it. energyfromthorium.com/thorium/

Yes, because all great leaps in technology only happened because the government made it happen.

And we may even have something better than Thorium Reactors (and have had it for ~ 100 years:

free-energy-info.co.uk/Chapter7.pdf (may require several re-readings)

Nicola Tesla, and an unrelated inventor, Thomas Henry Moray, apparently proved their versions of the 'Harmonic Generators' out 100%... I've heard rumors that Tesla built "A car moved by Tesla's AC Motors, drawing power from 'a single antennae'...", and demo'd it for industrialists of the time... but all refused to fund it because there was no recurring-point-of-sale, like Fuel and expensive maintenance. Moray was simply shot to shut him up.

Anyways.. might be worth looking in to.

The more you read and try to put together your own model of 'Energy', the more sense it makes.

My most solid revelation so far was this:

I think I'm starting to see that the theory that "Electrons Flow Through A Conductor" that we've all been taught is w-r-o-n-g. In some cases, yes, electrons are moved around little bits of a circuit (terminals of a battery, into/out of the flesh of a person who grabs a live wire i.e. Chemical reactions that happen when a circuit touches an electrolyte etc.) , but they're almost NEVER "pushed" through the conductor itself.

What is going through the conductor? Generic. Energy. ... as transferred in a wave-like pattern through/around the electrons/matter, which, i believe, warp 'space' such that energy 'wraps around' matter ('crunchy' atomic particles), in a way it doesn't 'wrap around' empty space.

Where did i get this crazy idea?

Staring at the First Example in Chapter 7 - Tesla's 'ambient energy generator' - look closely at at... if it works, then where are the 'Electrons' coming from that fill up the 'Ariel-connected' side of the capacitor?
> Not from the air... the metal plate is highly insulated!
> And the potential difference across the capacitor isn't coming from the electrons IN the crystal structue of the metal being pushed out i.e by Earth's Magnetic Field or my Atmospheric Forces - if that was the case, there'd be a HUGE potential difference BACK into the Ariel at some point, and that doesn't happen... AND the one-way current that DOES happen doesn't stop.!

... So 'electrons' can't possibly be being pushed through that circuit.

I have all the materials to make this sitting seven feet to my right, and two 8-foot grounding rods already driven into the ground right outside my room... just gotta get off of FJ for long enough to try it out

I was under the impression we weren't using Thorium for the same reason we don't put radium in clocks anymore. Shits radioactive. It's one thing to have it secure in a plant, and other to have cars runnin around with it. Cars crash and shit. Fuel plants don't want to have to set up the security and training needed to handle distribution of radioactive material. That kinda shit.

the government is mostly gunshy about thorium power because they dont want devices that can be dissasembled to create a dirty bomb readily available
User avatar #181 - thelastamerican (06/24/2014) [-]
Smoke detectors. Why are they available if the government is so gun shy?
User avatar #236 - valyn (06/24/2014) [-]
because you would need 30,000 or so of them
User avatar #313 - thelastamerican (06/24/2014) [-]
It's still an excellent example of people living right next to a radiation source for a very long time. So long that most people don't even realize that they're radioactive. I say we build on this premise. If smoke detectors are safe, then we can build safe thorium reactors.
