you can't blame television for douche bags, they existed long before television did. i hate when people blame tv for society's trash, when are they became trash more from being influenced by the people their around &/or their parents.

wanna hear a feel good story my middle bro did recently? He's a jock and kinda pushes himself a way from the family (like my dad in this respect...), but unlike my dad he still shows affection and loves us, he knew one of the bosses at the job I was looking for to tell him to pull my app! HE TRIED TO HELP ME GET A JOB! I can't tell you how much appreciated him for doing that (unfortunately I just got a thanks but no thanks on Saturday, so i gotta keep tryin)!

My middle bro for what he's worth, as much as he likes to act he's too cool for our family, he always comes through. I love my brothers

now if my eldest bro will just do some shit with me !

thanks for the support btw, much appreciated, something my dad doesn't have

See, having someone in your life who cares for you like that makes you luckier than a looot of people on this planet, who have virtually nothing. Just appreciate what you have, and know that whether you like it or not, you will hit some low points in your life, we all inevitably will, but I hope you remember this the next time that happens, remember the time that strangers showed you love and tried to help you make steps towards becoming the best possible person you can be. Remember this, and pick yourself up, dust your self off and keep moving forward!

I ought to sleep now, I have work tomorrow, but I wish you all the best, and I hope you can find a perspective of life that enables you to realise that we have a limited time on this planet, and that we should all make the most of it, and that means caring for strangers, and trying to be the best person that we can be. And most importantly, don't let yourself get overwhelmed. Every journey starts with a single step. Good luck, and good night!

my only fat problems really just low energy cuz I'm stuck in my home :/, that goes away when I'm doing something, i only get high blood pressure from naturally getting angry so that's not a problem, and my breathing is only labored through allergen caused asthma something I can't change.

I am an outgoing person, and I LOVE TO TALK! The problem is that I SUCK at reading people, I have no idea if they like me, I have no idea if they want to do shit with me, because whenever I ask, people have called me a creep! This is why I didn't have many friends growing up because I can't trust anyone! I've been bullied all my life so of course I'm hesitant on making that first step, that's why I do wait for them to make the call first because then I know they like me, and want to do stuff with me.

I am a bit of a party pooper though , that's cuz idk how to party...

I've also been a victim of giving a person a compliment and again being called a creep...

I'm always sincere, I have a friend from Cal who comes here who's an orphan, I give him good advice all the time (though it backfires so that happens...) so I totally know what you're talking about!

But yeah only I can make it work, my problem is that Idk how to make things work.

This is where I wish I had a GOOD dad, or if I lived with my godfather, he'd know how to make my life work. I love my godfather :3

I grew up without my father, well I'm 23 now so I still have some growing up to do, but mum taught me to be kind and polite, and I taught myself to be awesome! Haha, but seriously, I was at a low point a few years ago, but I made a complete turnaround, and honestly it was at a point where I just walked up to the bathroom mirror and said "Sort your fucking life out" to that self pitying man. I did have valid reasons to be down, but I have found that although shit happens around me, annoying, off putting, and sometimes downright depressing shit, I am the master of my own fate. I read things that inspire me, and talk with people who I can relate to.

And also remember that sometimes, people are just dicks. Blame television and society for that, letting people think it's okay and even cool to be a dick, but also remember that the world is full of people with big hearts and plenty of time for people such as yourself. You just have to find a way to gain confidence, start reading inspirational things, like inspirational and motivational pages on Facebook, I can recommend some if you like, or just find them online if you don't have Facebook. You mentioned you have brothers, strengthen your bond with them, ask them for advice etc.

And when you compliment someone, don't think about it too much. Don't even wait for a response. Just say, "I like your hair" (only if you mean it of course). And then start to walk away. They may respond saying thank you and then you can stop and use this as a way of continuing the conversation, and if they don't respond or they respond negatively, you were walking away anyway, so it doesn't matter! Just try to be, and say things, as natural as possible! And respect if people don't seem willing to talk. Crossed arms indicates being defensive and closed off so they may not want to talk anyway, or they may just be busy as fuck, and therefore may brush you off without thinking.

You've got to figure out what works for you, only you can do that..

i had to vent anyway, it's nice to get my hatred of my dad off my chest
but yeah, I'm still working, i'm working on getting a job, and going back to school (I had aced Calculus at one point in college, it's something), I've already accomplished a lot regardless of how he feels about it. Hell, when it comes to the lovely ladies, I may still have a chance in life as no girl near my age (at least in my last job , or when I was in college) put me down and shit. So obviously I got some shit going for me, and I know it.

Which is why I don't worry about my weight, because I KNOW it's the least of my problems
#181 - arbazio (06/16/2014) [-]
You shouldn't worry about your weight, but imagine what life would be like if you didn't suffer from low energy, laboured breathing, high blood pressure (I'm assuming, here). You could do so much, and see so much more of this world, and I assure you. there's a lot that's worth seeing!

And regarding the lack of friends issue, I've felt like that before, but then I realised I was being silly, as I was expecting people to reach out to me as I'm a pretty cool guy.. But then I realised that WAS silly, because social interaction is a 2 way street. If you want to make friends, you have to be outgoing. That doesn't mean you have to be the life of the party, but it does mean MAKE that compliment that you are thinking about in you head, don't keep it to yourself. ASK someone where they got that cool T-shirt you like.

And in the end, remember to be yourself and most of all be sincere! Put your own spin on the advice you've been given today, if you choose to take it.

Best of luck with everything, it will only work out, if you make it work!

Thanks for assisting me in trying to make that Saltyfries-guy realise what he's doing.
It really does something with me seeing guys like him.

I mean he's been granted these opportunities whereas people in for example India have nothing. People who would've tried to make something of what he has been given. Idk it just makes me feel so bad.

Anyways, have a good one and thanks

No worries buddy, I could see you were trying to do a good thing! I know what you mean, but just because those people are suffering tremendously, and as unfair and horrifying as some of that suffering is, I don't think it detracts from his personal struggle. For him, his pain is more real than we can imagine! But yeah, I can tell you have a big heart, for taking the time out to try and help a stranger, and now I'm sure of it, as you are aware of the suffering that goes on in other parts of the world and it hurts you as it does me.

*pic related* It's one of my favourite pictures ever, unfortunately I don't know the original source, and it reminds me of the vastness of this universe, and the significance of an individual living entity!

Keep being awesome and take care!
