Hand in hand with freedom of speech goes the power to be heard, to share in the decisions of government which shape men's lives. Everything that makes man's life worthwhile family, work, education, a place to rear one's children and a place to rest one's head all this depends on the decisions of government; all can be swept away by a government which does not heed the demands of its people, and I mean all of its people. Therefore, the essential humanity of men can be protected and preserved only where government must answer not just to the wealthy, not just to those of a particular religion, or a particular race, but to all its people.

Paragraph 1: a summary of what you read this week.
This chapter is an interview between detective Rita Chernow and Doctor Lila Kyle about an indecent at the ER where 9 people were killed and Doctor Kyle was found. Doctor Kyle seems very confused and is having trouble remembering what happened. When she’s able to remember parts of what happened, she tells of a patient that was having seizures then he moved at lightning speed a bit the nurse then the others killing them before escaping. Then she says that it couldn’t have been human, not with that speed and ferocity.

The mood of the book is very ominous and very dark. It makes me feel excited about what is going to happen next. “Those eyes. It was like looking into hell. Like falling forever into darkness. Do you believe in hell detective?”(Lilia Kyle 19)

I am enjoying how this book explains what happened before and during the apocalypse. Many books like this just start and don’t explain how it happened. And I would not change anything about this book. This book is one of my favorite books ever and I do not think it needs to be changed.
