by taking away the national bank and removing regulation on bankers! That'll work, right?

Dude! He's like the only politician Republican or Democrat who voted against the repeal of the Glass-Stegal Act
User avatar #167 - CakeOrDeath (01/18/2012) [-]
Bankers didn't cause the economic crisis. The Government lowered standards for loans and mortgages causing unfit people to get loans which ultimately caused banks to fail because these people were unable to pay what was owed. Don't take the easy road and try and blame the people who actually want to help.

Fyi this is spoken from a Senior loan officer who has lost a job because of the government's fuck up.

its nice to see someone NOT on the ron paul band wagon. the man is insane, yeah he has a FEW decent ideas but its counter acted by the rest of the terrible ones. changing the dollar to the gold standard for example. thats fucking retarded.
User avatar #285 - starvaggi (01/18/2012) [-]
EXACTLY. He believes in so little government that he scares the shit out of the rest of them. Yes Dr. Paul, it's lovely that you don't think we should police the world, but how the hell are you going to get us out of this recession by allowing what went on to keep going on? Deregulation, not regulation, caused all of this.
User avatar #288 - exoh (01/18/2012) [-]
true. i personally feel the united states needs to get away from their "democracy" because right now it can be barely called that as is but the government needs reform. ron paul isnt the solution to everyones problems, yeah he has some good ideas but hes still not going to fix everything. the government is as a whole in need of reform. i dont know if you agree but ive agreed with the "revolution" idea since the law that passed recently allowing the military to imprison anyone in the united states including citizens without reason and hold them indefinitely without trial and even kill people if they want to. all over terrorism and the 'terrorism' that is plaguing the U.S. right now as far as the government is concerned is protests.

sorry if im coming off as someone spouting viva la revolution or something like that, im really not but i hate the way the states are going and its going more and more towards a police state and it has pissed me off quite a bit, id rather see it go to capitalism or something similar then stay on its current path
User avatar #289 - starvaggi (01/18/2012) [-]
It's very troublesome when we see them arresting people for protesting, using some bullshit excuse for it so that it legally has to be done, when it's really just driven by a hatred of dissent. The direction I'd like to see America go in is this: They pass laws cutting military spending, denying corporate personhood, getting money out of politics, and taxing the wealthiest citizens more, then put the funds gained from that into education, infrastructure, health care, and welfare. We need to be more like the rest of the free world, and we need that now.
