This is why I like you :3 you present your opinion in a coherent way without stepping on the toes of other opinions.

Only my grandfather was really religious. My parents were always open minded with me so when I ended telling them that I personally had no belief in a God, they allowed me my opinion and never tried to force anything onto me. It led me to being, in my opinion, tolerant of other not so like minded individuals. I may not think entirely the same as you, but I won't (I think it is this one too) go trying shit on your parade with my beliefs. I love how you managed to blend the two so seamlessly, and I respect that immensely.

awesome that you had such understanding parents....really doubt my family woulda felt the same way had i decided to be atheist.....which now that i think about it was a real possibility given my affinity for logic lol i mean we already argue about some new tenet of christianity every time i come home at christmas.......but the great thing about my method (which, from the perspective of 11 year old me first integrating the two, is actually REALLY lucky that religion and logic and science just happened to be able to go together so seamlessly at all lmao i dont think i ever noticed that before) is that it has the best of both worlds and i can....well you can never "win" an argument about religion, logic, or philosophy so long as you play by the rules, but i've never lost one ...which now that i think about it is also not a big consolation since anyone can rationalize a loss as a win....sigh nevermind XD

Personally an agnostic atheist, but I don't mind religion and religious people. We're all free to our own thoughts and opinions. I just hold respect for those who won't (having a crisis, I don't remember if won't is a word or if it should be wont) blatantly yell out that their opinion trumps others. Logic dictates in my opinion, and what's logical to me may be illogical to others, and vice versa.
#33 - AnonymousDonor (5 hours ago) [-]
first off i think won't is what you're looking for hahah as in will not. "wont" in my experience is i guess an adjective? describing the proclivity of something to perform an action like "otters are wont to crack clams on their tummies"

additionally i ended up in life agreeing with the logic part too. since i was born into hardcore catholicism (italian family, catholic schools...) it was a lot easier for me to understand the beauty of the irrationality of faith first - a big step for anyone trying to understand religion in general......hahah and i've been skeptical almost all my life; if i may go full on theist here its crazy how many silly prayers ive had answered literally immediately (to the point of empirical evidence) and how crazy much God - assuming it exists - has completely shaped the best parts of my life ...............that being said i was a thousand times more surprised what happened when i began actually logically questioning all the things i did not understand and how easy it was for all the "crazy" teachings of the church to actually have a strong and coherent foundation in logic. course part of the problem there is that i no longer "believe"/have faith because i've logically proven to myself that such blind belief is not even necessary cuz the facts and possibilities are all there....but i wouldnt have it any other way

You presented your arguments in a very easy to follow point-counterpoint method, neither trying to disprove or prove either side. :3 You seem like a good person. Have a great night/day.
