- If you're gay, an erection can be contagious.
So if I were gay, I could cause other males in the vicinity to go erect even if they were straight?

I'd have to be a female to be a lesbian, last I checked (at the time of this typing), I have a penis.

No. Just no. Theaters do this shit all the fucking time in order to have the best performance for a role. I've seen shows where Annie was a little boy. Hamlet was a guy who looked like Danny DeVito. Black chicks playing Frenchie in Grease, and girls playing John Proctor in Crucible. The bottom line for a stage show is the actor who can do it best gets the role.
Very true. It's almost like they expected some sort of backlash which'd give their production some much needed controversial attention. I hope people realize that throwing a wobbly over it just gives more publicity to something that actually doesn't really matter that much; it's happened a lot recently with racial casting (fantastic four as an example) because it generates a buzz around something with little to give in the first place.
Except it's Harry Potter, one of the biggest franchises of books and movies in the world. Anything with the Harry Potter name will already be gushed over, making this bullshit unnecessary.
