It doesn't work like that. You can't choose who helps you.

It can be fulfilling, but it takes memorization.

You can make several handy programs that do cool things

You can also learn to decrypt other peoples programs and make them better if you want to.

But if you can't do logic and or memorization of lines, then you're going to have a bad time.

Also keep in mind there's Python, C++, Java, LSL, and several more you can do.

I tried to program, but after I did my classes I quit, now I just script.

It doesn't take memorization at all. It takes logic. If you were good at math, you will be good at programming. Don't start with C++ unless you want the crash course which overwhelms most prospective programmers.

Professional programming isn't for everyone. It usually takes someone ready to nerd out on a computer for years, but when you're there you're a certified computer hacker. HOWEVER, I suggest everyone mentally competent to learn basic programming because it's a core skill for mental processing and managing computers.

Basic or Visual Basic programming? (just to be clear)

and yeah I started out on Visual Basic, then went on to C++
It wasn't hard at all except for when I had to remember functions, calls, how to insert files into the program, read the file, then close it, how to use stacks, how to inject data, remembering to differentiate between integers, doubles, characters, strings...

The thing I had down best in C++ was For loops, nested For loops, While loops, etc.

I never could remember the code for my header. #include what?

basic as in rudimentary programming, whether it be in python, lua, c#, java, or any of the other great languages except c++ unless you're just that determined
