Peace is only the absence of war. War brings peace.

Inventing stuff.

Pretty much all great inventions are based off things made for war

You're right, we've all learned to fear the horror of the weaponised can opener. And what about the death toll of the DVD player?

Do you know your cell phone? the thing you use to talk to people very very far away?
The army used a normal phone and made it better so it eventually formed into the cell phone we know now.

Virtually everything we use in day to day life was created for military use. I'm not saying everything, but most things, from your computer to your tv, were definitely military invented.

I dispute that. Glasses, the radio, printers, vaccines, the piano, paint, Windows 7 most things have been created in peacetime for peacetime. Yes, it's true a few inventions have been improved by war, the radar springs to mind, but it's worth noting that even these were just peacetime ideas that were railroaded for use in war.

The military rarely invents anything. They just weaponise them.

The radio, printers, computers in general, many vaccines, etc. all creditable to military invention. Thinking that the radio wasnt used by the military, before any kind of commercializing, is just ludicrous. Sometimes in the history of an invention, production and applicable use are just as important as having designed it to begin with. We wouldnt have half of the things we do now without Tesla, though most of it he didnt invent, he just improved.

But that's wrong...

These products have all been used in wars but they existed before them too.

Lrn to Wikipedia next time...

Anything war can do,
Yes, peace can too!
Peace can do better,
That's all I'll say on that matter.

I've seen way too many times where people are guided for their entire lives, they never do anything for themselves. It gets so bad that when they hit a dead end, they have no clue what to do, they get so used to people telling them what's best they lose the ability to rationalize what they want to do, what they like, to think about what would be best.

I agree I could have worded it better. Is it okay to get help from those that offer? Yes, as long as one can handle themselves. Should it be mandated that help is given to anyone? Fuck No.
