Well, I doubt you would plow through...I'd say nearly a thousand anime titles and get anything out of it, considering that I have pretty eclectic tastes and watch almost every genre in equal measure.
And I don't score anything because it is pointless, so you wouldn't be able to filter them that way.

I mean, you can look at the recommendation comps for a small fraction of the things I usually like, but that doesn't matter all that much. I make recommendations by looking at what the person I'm recommending to likes, and making judgments on what they might like based on that - regardless of whether I, personally, like it. And I'm usually right.

Yeah, no. If you haven't watched enough anime that you need a MAL to remember at least 1/4 of the anime you have watched, then you haven't watched enough to give people an even vaguely reasonable amount of suggestions.

Yes, I know those exist, but a lot of people do not, and their recommendations can be kinda rubbish at times to be honest.
And yes, I know people could probably find some of what I recommend easily, but they still do not do that for some reason. I mean, for example, most IT experts would be out of a job if people just googled their problems, but they do not.
So, if I get at least a few people to watch something new, something good, something they'll enjoy and haven't heard of before, that's a win in my book.

I do IT and 98% the problem is solved by turning it off and turning it back on, 1% it is not plugged in properly(or at all), and the other 1% is solved by a backup, wipe, and clean installation.
