| cheetah gets +6 Str, +8 Dex, +4 Con, +0 Con, +4 Wis, and +0 Cha so, before stats and including level boosts (because I honestly can't remember what those went into, I made her about a year ago) she was 18 Str, 15 Dex, 18 Con, 12 Int, 13 Wis, and 12 Cha. I had generated those via 5d6b3 Never done 5d6b3. Most of the time I've done point buy, straight 3d6, or 4d6 drop lowest and duplicates. What's the level reduction? Got any good campaign stories? also, 5d6b3 is basically the same as 4d6, just with one more d6 and the two lowest are ignored. sadly never been able to use her in a campaign. The main group I've 3.5'd with has always been online, and by the time I made her for the hell of it (at first, once she was done I wanted to play her) we had more or less given up because we usually get 1 or 2 sessions before schedules and time zones just ruined it all for us. just imagine if I had chosen to make her Dex-centric ranger (a cheetah's favored class)or something, and put one of the 18's in there. | ||

anon (01/01/2016) [-] MGR is great. It's all the crazy bullshit you'd expect from the franchise except it doesn't even try to take itself seriously. #39 -
motherfuckingkenji (12/31/2015) [-] >"I have to play some of these games" Are you implying that Metal Gear Rising is even a fucking Metal Gear game? Because it's fucking not. True Metal Gear music is a lot less metal. Like this one for example, even if it's from MGSV which I've heard a lot of people also don't consider a true Metal Gear game because it stopped being a unique sneaky stealthy game and became Far Cry Solid. Still a great song though. By that logic "Halo Wars" is not a Halo game because it is an RTS. An RTS set in the same universe as all the other games. An RTS where you have the same soldiers and the other games. An RTS that references the other games. Just because a game crosses genres doesn't mean it's not from the series that gave it birth. I understand that Revengeance isn't a stealth game but it is still Metal Gear game, and I would love to check it and the others out.

| I've spent too much time on /tg and it's starting to rub off on me. It's just that he doesn't stop (or at least hasn't yet) going on an on in his intro sections about how he's exiled and misunderstood and what is life? I know those sections are there to help new readers pick up on what's going on but they get tedious and you'd think that after several hundred years he'd stop. That being said, I still like the books overall. the section intros are a form of meditation that a monk he travels with in the more recent books is surprised to learn he does because his own order encourages it as well, and as the books progress they become less about "i'm an exile" and more about "I have found others who refuse to judge me based on other drow, only on my own merits" and then "I would gladly die for these people as long as I don't have to throw away the morality in my own heart." | ||

| Speaking of goblins. I was running 5e starter kit for my group. if you don't know one of the first things that happens is they get attack by goblins and one gets captured. The wizard who could speak goblin decides to strap the goblin to his quarterstaff. So now he has a goblin on a stick that he used several times as one of those grabby things. Depends on the setting honestly, in DnD there are several different settings and a lot of people just homebrew one so you can't say something isn't canon in that case #19 -
anon (12/23/2015) [-] >some Drow being good >not canon bitch, if you know about DnD you know about Drizzt Do'Urden. Hell, he's even plastered all over parts of the Player's Handbook for 5e as an example of a "drow that rejected his evil heritage". When the Player's Handbook straight up tells you in no uncertain terms that some Drow can be good, you can't really say it isn't canon. I've read the first eight books of the series, I am well aware of the greatest marty-stu, special snowflake, intolerable, idiot that is Drizzt Do'Urden. Are you referring to the 5e handbook? I haven't gotten the chance to read it all yet. My group is stuck back in 3.5. I've spent too much time on /tg and it's starting to rub off on me. It's just that he doesn't stop (or at least hasn't yet) going on an on in his intro sections about how he's exiled and misunderstood and what is life? lollypopalopicus (12/23/2015) [-] True, but in lore, there are fallen angels. These are personified goods. If an angel can fall, then by the same logic, and demon can rise. Hell Planescape Torment had a decent Lawful Neutral Succubus, and pulled it off in a non shit way. Really? I've never played Planescape: Torment but I've heard it's good. I'll have to check that out. #11 -
lollypopalopicus (12/23/2015) [-] You could either torrent it or get it on Good Old Games. If you want I can give a few details about her, since it isn't to far into the game. Either that or use the half-fiend template (if your edition supports it). Most of the fiendish abilities and looks can be attained by either race or with the Acolyte of the Skin prestige class in 3.5. The class is really pretty dang evil though, even if the rules say neutrals can take it. Except it's a hybrid race with more than a few caveats about how the race is handled. They're outcasts from EVERY society, literally a case of too bad for heaven, too good for hell, but they mostly retain their humanity, though it's tainted by the demonic pact formed somewhere back along the bloodline, giving them different features and abilities. They can be whatever alignment they want, but pure-blooded demons (with some rare exceptions) and devils are the manifestations of evil. They will always be evil because they are evil before they come into existence. It's like trying to pass off Metal Gear Solid 3's Volgin as a good guy. It's not gonna happen, he's a dumbass maniac with the temperment of a toddler.
