anon (12/17/2015) [-] Do what I do when I start a new game (I'm on my third fallout character) Option A: New playstyle. Stealth, melee, sniper, assault, operator, power armor fanatic. Option B: Roleplay. My newest character I started out with an altered backstory. Obviously since I don't have mods like Alternate Start yet, I had to kinda work around that so what I did was (actual spoilers) My character is a synth. Basically, he wasn't the only survivor of Vault 111, because he hadn't survived. When Shaun returns years later to release his Dad so he can find him, he discovers his dad is dead from the same cryo malfunction that affected everyone in the vault. So, he extracts his memories and implants them in a synth designed to look and act just like him. Thus, he'll get to essentially meet his dad and learn what he wanted to learn from him. So, my character acts as the normal player until after the Battle of Bunker Hill when he argues with Shaun and it's revealed he's a synth. Then things start to change dramatically and it's a really fun perspective to play from Option C: All of the Above. Create a character with a backstory that affects how he plays. One of my characters was a Boxer before the war and so he's very melee focused. Boy does he love that power fist. Another character stumbles upon Dunwich Borers early on and is compelled by Kremvs Tooth to kill in the name of whatever deity is buried there. So that character is kind of cult-y and has some interesting interactions. It helps that Skyrim combat has some actual variety. Bandits and draugr? Stab them in the faces. Troll pops up? Grab a fire spell. Giant? Stay the fuck away and throw arrows and fireballs at it. Dragon? Hide behind a rock and pray to your divine of choice that it eventually gets bored and lands. In Fallout, it's more like: Raider? Open VATS and shoot them in the face until they die. Mutant? Open VATS and shoot it in the face until it dies. Deathclaw? Open VATS and shoot it in the face until it dies. Murelurk queen? Open VATS, pray to your deity of choice you have a big enough gun and shoot it in the face until it dies. #10 -
creamymcgee (12/17/2015) [-] Fallout 4 has such a tiny map and so little quests its hard to replay it. It doesn't help that 90% of all buildings are boarded up and you can't enter them. That really limits the fun of exploring. Skyrim may have been as shallow as a wading pool but at least it was a huge wading pool with plenty of fun water toys to play with. Fallout 4 is just as shallow but instead of a wading pool, its an inflatable kiddie pool with a water gun in it. fallout 4 map might be small but it has more locations i think there where like 310 or some shyt like that, skyrim map is larger but because of the fucking mountains #19 -
bann (12/17/2015) [-] I'm some 30+ hours into the game and I haven't left the top half of boston, let alone the hundreds of places I've still got to check out. I think it's more that skyrim has a sort of "magic" about it. Not so much its game play but its theme is about fantasy and exploration, which in my opinion, has more replay value than fallout 4. Still love fallout 4, but I don't think I'll get more than 2 playthroughs out of it, which is fine.

sweetjessierose (12/17/2015) [-] Yeah, the usual way is to just put it in a normal bottle; hiding in plain sight, if you will. I had a friend in high school who would bring scotch and coke to school in the kind of opaque bottle one would normally have for school (pic related). Other people just get a bottle of coke/orange juice/mixer of choice, drink enough to fit their liquor of choice, and fill the space with said liquor. Easy as (provided the either your liquor was clear or your mixer was not). Well I beg your fucking pardon, Mr Pedantic, but where I'm from, 'coke' can refer to any cola based beverage, as well as a street name for cocaine. Use your goddamn context clues and have a fucking guess as to which one I meant. With permission from relevant authorities. Thought I should add that. Depends on the beach but yeah a lot of american beaches don't allow alcohol. #21 -
anon (12/16/2015) [-] I think its different for each area. I'm pretty sure that most don't allow bottles though, because of broken glass and what not.

godofhorizons (12/16/2015) [-] Because only like a 1/10 of 1% of people on here have actually watched his show and the rest are merely parroting the memes they've seen. I would suggest watching his show with no biases before making your own decision. FJ is such a stormfag city that hates liberals so much you got +8 on that comment so far I'm sorry the logic of it went over your head. Basically a comment bashing conservatives (who hate being called stormfags) would not be positively received on a messageboard that is completely conservative. If you didn't notice, someone already said that. Unsurprisingly, they got more thumbs than me. Which disproves their point, but whatever. How does it disprove my point that the /pol/ circlejerk doesn't exist if I get green thumbs? You're the one claiming it does exist, so if you get green thumbs you're disproving your own point, as the existence of a /pol/ circlejerk would logically prevent you and every other liberal here from getting greenies for obvious reasons. You're not thinking clearly, I suggest taking a nap. After that, in the 'argument' you'd notice he has more than me. People agree with him more than me. About his point that because people don't agree with him, he's right. "About his point that because people don't agree with him, he's right." I see you're a master of reading comprehension. Because stating that the /pol/ circlejerk doesn't exist means that people don't agree with me, somehow. You're doing a weird logical jump where you assume that me disagreeing with your position means that I have to believe the exact opposite of your position. I can't just think the /pol/ circlejerk doesn't exist, I have to believe a liberal circlejerk exists. Not every logical buddy, take a rest and think it over. If you had made any sort of argument in that entire mess of a conversation I might have understood your intent. All you did was repeat my posts back to me, something I could get my 3 year old sister to do. This is the first time you've actually said anything to me yourself. I'd much rather actually discuss reasons and proof for our viewpoints than just being passive aggressive to each other. You also could've understood it with basic reading comprehension skills. Every time I argue seriously with your type I never get anywhere, at least sarcasm is entertaining for me. From what I've seen of your arguments, I can understand why. You somehow took me saying that there are many people from /pol/ here as me saying that all of funnyjunk is a /pol/ circlejerk. The undeniable truth is that people migrated from /pol/ to here. The easily deniable assumption is that they are some sort of a majority. At least on their own posts they are, and that can colour perception a little bit. Bloodrocutation, for example. He blocks me, and everyone else who disagrees with him. Consequently, his posts are only able to be commented on or voted on by people that agree with him. Seeing posts like that can make FJ look like a circlejerk, even if it really isn't. I'm sorry, how could I ever get the feeling you think fj is a /pol/ circlejerk in a statement like "FJ is stormfag city". It's beyond me. See how fun it is? Its also an undeniable truth that people from tumblr and reddit have also came to fj so your statement means very little. Your implication is clear, you think theres a /pol/ circlejerk on fj, the only reason you're backing away from it now is because you've been called out on it and feel silly. The amount of people who blocked me at one point was so bad that I couldn't comment on a little less than half of the posts on front page. Using your reasoning I can say that FJ is a tumblr circlejerk. It is an illogical conclusion based on anecdotes, and its a bit repetitive when on almost every single midly controversial you see some liberal whine about what an awful /pol/ stormfag circlejerk the site is. You can continue as you'd like obviously, but I just wanted to confront you, as when these things are confronted they usually die down after a time. I never meant to imply that all of funnyjunk was 'stormfag city'. And yes, there are lots of SJWfags on FJ. The problem with both groups is that they create circlejerks. Blocking and etc. Well maybe because you just lost the argument. Even ignoring thumbs, the point is that your comment was not even remotely poorly received. Post it on a real conservative messageboard like /pol/ and see if you get such a positive response #158 -
anon (12/16/2015) [-] You know, it is very possible to be annoyed by liberals and not be a conservative. #108 -
youregaylol (12/16/2015) [-] I'm surprised so many liberals are getting greenies in stormfag city, maybe the evil /pol/ army is blessing you or something. You'd think they'd just give you reds for calling them out instead of burying you in greens, but I guess you can never understand the ebil racist hivemind that totally exists, right? Eh, most posts by schnitz and co. are stormfag city because everyone who disagrees with him gets blocked. They made their own safe spaces and shit. Also, here's a tip to FJ - it's almost random what gets thumbs and what doesn't. Time of day in the US, parent post thumbs, parent comment thumbs, amount of time left on the parent post - shit getting thumbed or not is almost pure chance. It's strange, I've been blocked by alot of the people who hate the stormfags, they thought I was one of them somehow. It's like, only /pol/ blocks, why are you blocking me? Makes no sense. And yeah, its all random what people agree on. Which makes it so hard to prove that the /pol/ circlejerk is real to my friends. They say "Oh, you don't have any evidence, you're just freaking out because you saw an opinion you didn't like or got butthurt over a joke" But I tell them thats its real, I can just feel that it is. Theres no need for evidence when you really, really feel like somethings real. Well, as long as you justify your feels with anecdotes its all good, belief based on act is so 2014. You've done nothing but act passive aggressive and sarcastic this whole time. Your rhetoric is getting pretty rust, old buddy old pal. Work on your debating skills. In case you didn't notice, I don't actually care about what you're saying. You've not made any actual points here. Sarcastic? What? I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be. I know my debating skills are off. But I'm learning. It's /pol/s fault. Simple as that. Whenever someone disagrees with me or offends me, 99% of the time they're from /pol/ and are hellbent on harassing me. Thats why FJ is /pol/, you can tell by how many times you're offended. Uh huh. Are you saying that Fj hasn't become more right wing since Admin publicised funnyjunk during the Gamergate fiasco by not censoring discussion about it? When /pol/ was purged a lot of them came here. Lots of users have admitted that they came from /pol/, lots of threads on /pol/ were about FJ. Those that didn't go to 8chan went here. You've mastered the socratic principle, by the way. What are you even saying? I'm not denying that, I believe it. Of course FJ got invaded by /pol/ after gamergate and took over, thats a confirmed fact with so much evidence thats its not even worthy of discussion. That happened. I also heard some guy say he went to /pol/ before, and then I saw another guy say it, and then another guy said he saw someone from /pol/ too. Thats all the proof I need. Thanks, I play soccer on the weekends, it works out my calves. Is this even an argument? I just say some shit and you repeat it back to me in a silly voice. If I wanted this I could have gone to my local kindergarten. I'm outski, brah. We were arguing? I thought we were having a discussion between fellow /pol/ haters. Don't think I'm mocking you or anything, I know it may look like I'm making fun of your theories and opinions because they may seem a bit "outlandish" or "creative", or "complete bullshit", but this is just how I type, honest. He's a liberal comedian, which by itself is fine. Until you realize most people are dumbasses and believe every word of it. It's literally news for them. He's also a bit of a faggot with his "It's 2015!!! How can you not have the same exact opinions as me, you BIGOT!". It's childish of him to assume that there is ONLY his opinion that is right. He's also a massive hypocrite. He said that "no "refugees" would EVER commit terrorist acts . Why block them? It's TWENTY FIFTEEN". And then, when Paris bombings happened, he called them "MASSIVE FUCKIN ASSHOLES" So what happened to the "refugees" not commiting terrorist acts? #99 -
anon (12/16/2015) [-] But...He said we should be allowing refugee's and criticized harder screenings. www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2015/11/17/were-syrian-refugees-involved-in-the-paris-attacks-what-we-know-and-dont-know/ I showed you mine now show me yours ;) How dare you say facts when we are exercising our right to hate mindlessly! That's what this site has come to, we used to joke about racism because we weren't a part of it, the jokes were aimed both ways, the racists and the minority. Now it's just going to hell in a hand-basket. i like that your comment is original and isn't spammed on every thread even remotely political I feel like you're being sarcastic; but regardless, some things have to be said. The voice of reason can be pestering. What? No. I mean it. /pol/ literally never gets called out, at all. I mean look at all the comments in this thread. No one mentions /pol, and if they do mention /pol/ they all get buried in reds. You're right though, you're the voice of reason and thats why /pol/ hates you and is burying you in all these reds and disagreeing with you. Take the fight to them brother. Sorry for the misunderstanding, youregaylol. And thank you for giving me faith in people. That faith is what powers and compels me to fight madness and hatred. I'll give em everything I have brother, and then some... Remember to call them stormfags too, its an instant argument winner. #62 -
anon (12/16/2015) [-] Except if you watched the show he was referring to the people who pulled off the attack as "MASSIVE FUCKING ASSHOLES" not the refugees. He even made it a point that the terrorists involved in the attack were not refugees. Well basically he says "It's 2015" a bit too often as a joke apparently? I dunno I haven't noticed it too much. Basically people like to bash on satire because of a few things, such as the spread of the /pol/ hivemind, the existence of a lot of liberals who give liberal thought a bad name, the fact that as soon as someone they agree with says something they disagree with they turn on him, a lot of reasons. I don't agree with a lot of what he says, but at the least he's on HBO and has a lot of freedom to say stuff, and I think he's funny a decent chunk of the time. FJ is /pol/? I've never heard that before. But wait, why do you have so many greenies in /pol/ when you're calling them out? Strange. Thats a logical conclusion. It's a wonder that the liberals don't take control of the actual /pol/ when the real /pol/ goes to sleep, because ideology is directly linked with sleep schedule. I'll keep an eye out for racist /pol/ agents. Prove us wrong; prove that liberalism is more popular here than whatever you'd call your point of view. Take a gander at your own thumbs, your whole internet persona. Are you a pariah? Or are you somewhat well accepted, garnering plenty of gb points for your opinions. So you make a claim that there is a/pol/ circlejerk, and I have to disprove it? My point was never that liberalism is more popular on fj, only that your beliefs are wrong. Also I got my thumbs from making funny comments, very, very few of the top ones political. I have taken several hundred red pixels at a time giving my political opinions as well, not that it matters. I have to concede that I don't have the evidence on hand to prove that funnyjunk has become over run by previous members of poll, but top comments is dominated by the pol view point. A few jackasses like me comment liberal stuff while people like you say something to the effect of "dindu nuffin" "refugees, hah you mean terrorists" and get drowned in thumbs. I won't try to convince you that your point of view is wrong, but know that your view is held widely in this world, and has led to more war and killing than any liberal naivety. I'll remember to check my privilege tonight, your comment made me remember I lost it a few months back. And your comment gave me cancer; look at us, two peas in a pod. How can we be two peas in a pod if you have cancer and I'm looking for my privilege, those seem like two different things. Both dissatisfied with the world, frustrated with people. So focussed on the opposition we forget the opposition isn't the whole population. We're not so different at all my friend. That reminds me. Didn't a bunch of people from 4chan migrate to other regions of the internet awhile ago because a change in mod policy regarding certain topics? I'm starting to wonder if a bunch of those scum came here. Which sounds ironic because they're probably the type of people who completely condemn the refugee thing because they're "letting shitlords in". No yeah, that's true. Admin publicly advertised to the /pol/ crowd as not censoring gamergate discussion. What a bullshit move on his part. He let those stormfags in by promising them all that stupid bullshit like "free speech" and "open forums". Is it really worth me being offended every day? /pol/ is purposely trying to get people angry with all their conflicting opinions, its like a circlejerk, probably. I never said my opinions on the matter, projecting much? :^) Just said that a lot of people from /pol/ came to FJ. Which you seem to vehemently deny. I would never deny that fact. It's like denying that the earth is round at this point. /pol/ took over fj, which is why all of the comments calling them out are buried in reds and everyone disagrees with them. Its also why nobody besides you has the balls to call out /pol/, especially getting greens with that comment. I mean, I don't really have an opinion on him, not based on his show anyway. He was pretty fun in Community, just curious why so many people on FJ hated him Yeah, those are literally the only reasons people hate him. Thats it. It's all bias against liberals and mob mentality. If that didn't exist everyone would love him and his quirky insightful commentary. Thank you for pointing that out friend. People liked John Oliver here Then he gave his piece on the refugee crisis and big shock it was more liberal and he thinks the vetting process is fine and we should let them in FJ switched into maximum /pol/ overdrive I actually don't even know if John Oliver actually said 'it's 2015' I thought that was the Canadian Prime Minister. wow you think we're /pol/, that is a very astute original observation how did you get so many greenies calling out the evil stormfags? you're in enemy territory obviously, why aren't they burying you in reds? #45 -
anon (12/16/2015) [-] I don't know if he's actually said it in his own show since I've never watched it, but he said it a lot in the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. #27 -
anon (12/16/2015) [-] We will use the scene from the Sixth sense where Cole stated "I see dead people." as an example. Now, it's more like "Why should Cole be the only one to see them? It's 2015, people!" However, John Oliver on his earlier shows he would rely "Yeah, of course you do, Cole. We're in a funeral home!" Then explain how expensive funerals can charge by using research to formulate his reason, rather than subjectivity of popular opinion. Tl;dr: John Oliver become a sellout. Oy vey it's the current year stop being anti-semitic! psssssssssssst here's 6 million shekels now shut your mouth about the chosen people! Is he actually a Jew, or is this more /pol/ shilling where Jews=anybody I disagree with? judaism is more of an ethnicity than a religion, in the opinions of jews themselves. he is ethniccally ashkenazi jewish. Notable distinguishing traits are oddly black, curly hair combined with pale skin, a hooked nose, protruding upper front teeth, and myopia. not all are always present, but they're common ethnic markers So what you're saying is you have no actual proof, but you are assuming so because him being a Jew gives you more reason to dislike him? Either way, it's still unclear on how him being a Jew has anything to do with what you were bitching about. As somebody who watches his show during breaks at work, that's so fucking stupidly wrong. Just go on Youtube and watch one of his more recent episodes and you'll see how fucking stupid it is. I've been watching him for a year or so now (and watched the past episodes that interested me) and the only one that came anywhere near the caricature that people paint of Jon Oliver was the immigrant episode. And that episode wasn't even bad in that he was being ridiculous, but rather because it took a very liberal and one sided view of the matter. And I've never heard him say anything akin to "it's 2015, how dare you not conform to my view of the world?!" Seriously, the people that criticize the dude have probably never seen a single fucking episode and just bandwaggoned on yet another half assed /pol/ meme that is only vaguely grounded in reality. Damn /pol/, ruining the image of amazing comedians with so much talent. #121 -
therealtjthemedic (12/16/2015) [-] When the topic at hand literally boils down to people from /pol/ emigrating to FJ then yeah, you're gonna mention /pol/. "WHY IS EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT REFUGEES? STOP TALKING ABOUT REFUGEES" "Sir this is a meeting about the refugee crisis" "STOP SAYING REFUGEES, I AM A REPRESENTATION OF THE OPPOSING VIEWPOINT AND AS SUCH AM YELLING AND NOT CALM" "Sir I understand, I am a representation of the author's views, and as such are very calm and polite." Ya you're right. I didn't actually see the original comment mention /pol/ so I was wondering why you were mentioning it but I understand now. You think the reason that people hate this british guy is because they must be from /pol/. It makes total sense, why else would they dislike him. Theres literally no logical reason too. Its all driven by /pol/, fucking racist cunts, they warp our minds. #42 -
