Working hard is very important, yes. You see, I'm not trying to change your opinions, just point you in a different route. With more intelligence, you can then educate others like yourself, chasing a path as a musician. You can also leave a bigger legacy, showing you played well and knew a lot. That will get you respect. Now, I'm just listing pros on taking classes on music. There are also many cons, like difficulty, or cost, etc

Just remember to chase your dreams, and don't let anyone stop you, just advise you.

I'm not certain, but it'll teach you valuable things about playing, writing, programming, mixing, engineering, etc. your music so that you can make better music overall.

Not to mention that it'll make you look EXTREMELY smarter. Like my buddy says, "intelligence is underrated."

>Implying every other artist doesn't go into the business for that.

Well, it's good you're not doing it for physical assets. I'm just saying, you'll get a bit more respect as well as some pride if you're both making good music and knowing what's behind it at the same time. Do you know Dream Theater? They all went to Berklee, the college I'm aiming for, and dropped out because they were getting successful. They can play complex shit because they know how it works, practiced extremely hard, and they know it easily.

...Besides, being a producer/engineer gives some extreme cash. Just saying. Just go ahead, but I really recommend taking school serious as a chance for rebound or other careers, also.

And the chances of becoming a successful musician are very slim, unless you can get into a good music college, which you need the GRADES for.

Ah, I get it now. That I cannot argue too much with. I'd change it to around 95% though. Some of the students are not too smart, but they at least don't even bother pretending to be, and they make hard work stand in for intelligence. Pretty successfully.

Not really. As a teacher, I can tell you that the most intelligent kid in my class has something less than a C in 4 classes. Doesn't do busy work. Smart as hell, but probably will not get into a good college.

Let me rephrase, the students think that grades reflect your intelligence. Grades reflect your work effort and intelligence together, but more about the effort.

The bitches who get good grades always parade around as a smart person. I fucking hate it. I'm smarter than probably 75% of my school, yet nobody acknowledges me. Not that I'm asking for attention, but it's kind of unfair how the ones who don't know or remember shit about anything in class get praised for absolutely nothing. There are several people like that.

nope, i actually love to read, i read history, politics eveything. But in school, it's so mediocre, poor, it's only based on grades and making you a "worthy" part of zoociety. We should learn for the pleasure of understanding this world and ourselves, not for the selfish idea of having a good education and then have a job like a mediocre and conformist civilian, we should be able to do more than that, more than obeying the system....
i'm tired of typing
