Just read the article. This heart didn't come naturally. So barring centaurs produced as frankenstein's monsters it's not very compelling.

Octopus yes, human exceptions don't count. That's like saying humans have 6 fingers because some folks suffer from polydactylism.

They count just fine as long as they exist in reality seeing as how the whole point of the debate was whether a complex nervous system could plausibly accommodate multiple hearts.

It is a European thing, it is also a thing in North America during certain situations like special seats or VIP cinema.

Well we have them here in BC Canada, and I'm pretty sure some theaters in the US have them.

They're actually pretty great, given that the customer chooses the seat number not the randomly assigned by the theater (so whether they get it online or in the theater, there's a screen with a map of all the seats and their numbers and you can pick)

So you can buy the tickets days in advance and get good seating, so you won't have to come 30 minutes early before all the good seats are just taken.

While I'll give you that would be pretty convenient, I will say in my experience at big midnight movie premiers its almost a fun social thing to do to camp out with all your friends and see a bunch of people you know while you wait to go in. We do the online seat thing for concerts and such, so I do see the convenience. Do you have to pay a bit more for the better seats in the theater? Or is it kind of a race online as soon as tickets go on sale to get the better seats?
User avatar #55 - potatovillain (08/11/2014) [-]
Naaah, I'm not too much of a camper, my friends and I just like to come in and have a seat; I don't really like standing and wait for an hour or so.

All seats within a hall are priced the same, but seat selection in itself is not offered in all the theater's auditorium. It's only offered in what's called the "UltraAVX" halls which are about two bucks more expensive than regular halls. They are bigger and have more comfortable seats than the ones in a regular movie auditorium.

Some of the seats in these halls however are priced higher if they are D-Box and are activated for the movie. What's D-Box? Simply put it, the seat MOVES with the movie, great for action films. More details here www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBbEaEUqtnY

Thats pretty fuckin sweet hahaha.... I get that though, there's many times where I wait a few days to be able to just walk in and sit where I want. It terms of the premiers though, for really big movies or series and stuff (ex Marvel films, Harry Potter, LOTR, etc.) everyone will buy their tickets online in advance (those big ones will sell out before the premier, so you have to go online) and then show up 5 or 6 hours before to get in line for a good seat. Sounds a bit ridiculous i know, but you see just about everyone you know so its a great big social gathering.... I still am jealous of that Dbox gig hahah

I too am from BC, though I know of no theaters with assigned seating
User avatar #53 - potatovillain (08/11/2014) [-]
Cineplex theaters. For example the Scotiabank Cineplex Theatre in Vancouver
User avatar #54 - kaisakuenkou (08/11/2014) [-]
Of the three Cineplex theaters in my area, none of which have assigned seating
User avatar #56 - potatovillain (08/11/2014) [-]
Oh I forgot to mention, this seat selection feature is not available in all the halls of Cineplex theaters, it's only available in UltraAVX halls. So I'm not sure if your Cineplex theatre has one of these. If they do, they should have them.
