true with the modification system in fallout 4 you need more parts and random items than in fallout 3 the only thing you could use half the random junk for was either to make the craftable weapons and the rock it launcher

In my mind Caesar expands East until being held off by the Eastern BoS and maintains his current territory in the West until conflict between the Legion and the NCR inevitably sparks War.
I think New Vegas is safe until The Courier dies and even beyond then considering the formidable Securitron Army dedicated to protecting Vegas.

They're still a bit far off from the Eastern BoS and Chicago still stands between them.

The Midwestern BoS has some influence there if Fallout: Tactics is to be taken as semi-canon. Also, some things in New Vegas point to the fact that there might still be some Enclave presence in the area.

It might be nothing to the Legion, but it might also be a problem. They still have the whole Midwest to cross and to us that area is just a big exclamation mark right now.

With Caesar alive and having lost twice at Hoover Dam I doubt he'd keep trying at it. Say what you will, he's not an idiot. I think if the Legion doesn't go far East then they'll at least take the Mid-Western US for themselves as they have no real opposition that we know of

To me it's not really about Caesar. In my point of view, coexistence between the NCR and the Legion is impossible. They are two empires hellbent on expansion with completely different ideals. Conflict seems unavoidable.

With New Vegas' independence, the Mojave may provide a temporary buffer zone, but how long can it last with the two titans knocking on it's door? Even if New Vegas remains independent for a large period, it's only a matter of time until they meet somewhere else.

Caesar may temporarily focus their attention to expanding into the East, but there's no way he'll let the West out of his sight.
