I completely forgot that you can give companions power armor. Time to go fuck some shit up with piper in some T-60 BoS armor, and me in some T-60 BoS Paladin armor. I would use my X-01 but I think it'd be cooler if we're both in BoS armor.

I have an idea for my settlement. Armor my guards, put any clothes on farmers, and nice clothes on shopkeepers. It'll be fucking dope. Now all I need is to build some decent walls or something, to make it look super cool

Get your favorite companion and yourself into a power armor, assault one of these gunner locations I mentioned when you're ready. Loot all their armor and combat/laser rifles and give them to your settlers. Laugh as raiders try to attack your settlement.

I'm level 36 currently, and I don't think I cleared those areas yet. The X-01 armor spawned for me, so I think I should be high enough to get that combat armor to spawn. I haven't really been picking up armor since I was happy with my BoS Combat Armor, so I feel like I may have missed some cool stuff... fuck. I didn't think they would be cosmetically different

Might be enough. Just quicksave before going in to be sure. After those guys are dead the other unnamed mooks that will replace them when the area respawns will be most likely using Sturdy or the occasional T45 power armor.

Yeah, I rolled with that BoS combat armor too for a long time until I noticed the different looks of a Sturdy Combat Armor on a Gunner as I was collecting some pieces for my settlement guards. BTW if you still want to keep going with the BOS paint, as long as you're still with them Sturdy and Heavy combat armor can also be modified to have the same BOS paint job.

Hey what armor is that? My combat armor definitely does not look as complete as that

Most segmented armors (like leather, combat, metal, etc.) have different variations. These variations are normal, Sturdy and Heavy and they generally drop according to which level you are.

The one I'm using is Heavy Combat Armor and it was hell to find a full set. As far as I saw, they only reliably drop from gunner named bosses once you are a high level. I have only seen one part drop from a common dude.

If you're looking to get one, leave the Quincy and Gunner's Plaza bosses alone until you're high level. I took most of them out pretty early on and I got fuckin' Sturdy armor.

What level were you by then? I was around 40 when I actually got around to complete the main quest and they always gave me legendary T-60d shit.

I use T-60d because I find it looks better.

Deliverer is the absolute tits when it comes to VATS. I got a railway rifle, some attachments for it, and a gauss rifle out of the railroad, in addition to Tinker Tom's cool stuff and some miscellaneous bullshit.

I haven't completed it as the railroad but as far as I know, that and the Deliverer mods are what you can get out of them. But to be honest I haven't got much exclusive stuff from the others either. Institute and BoS gave me some cool power armor paints but that's about it.
