He was clearly toying with Finn. The second after Finn got his shoulder Ren disarmed him and then got slashed him across the back (saw the movie again, and it was literally Ren's next attack after that that put Finn down). I took it as Ren being surprised that Finn could defend himself so well, but immediately defeating him the second he realized he'd need to try. Rey on the other hand was shown to be skilled with her staff, and had a very strong connection to the force, so her defeating an injured, emotionally distraught Ren, was not surprising to me at all. After all, she's running away for most of the fight until the end, where she calmed herself down and finally allowed the force to guide her.

The key factor is the sudden jump to an extreme that's clearly unreasonable and not immediately related. A good, well known, instance of this would be "A Modest Proposal".

Haven't played it in a while either, it hasn't aged that well compared to all the features New Vegas had.

The Lyon's chapter was my favorite chapter of the Brotherhood though, got kinda sad when I found out that the Lyons pepsi'ed and that kid in the Citadel became Elder Dickhead. Still ended up rolling with them in the end.

Is that a combination of the BoS symbol and the Lannister sigil? If it is, why'd you have to combine what is probably my favorite Fallout faction with what is amongst my least favorite Ice and Fire noble families?

It's actually the symbol of the Lyon's Pride, the elite squad led by Sentinel Lyons in Fallout 3. I think it can be seen in the set of T45-d you can get right before retaking the purifier.

I assumed that it meant that in a single bite the snake injects enough venom to kill 100 men if the venom were spread out across that many people. Basically, you'll be pepsi if you get bit.

Yeah but I mean, maybe if you get injected with enough venom to kill 100 people then it might kill you faster than say, if you were injected with enough to kill only 10 people.
