 I respect that. It's just different when a group of people does do that. Like I don't wanna call myself brown, I wanna call myself Canadian, but if people insist on treating me differently cause I'm brown then I'm going to have to deal with situation as a brown man Not everything is race, and I don't wanna talk about everything like it is, but some things are race related and it's important to address that. What effect does "black" hip hop culture have on the Youth? Why are there more black people in poverty than white people? Crime rates, mortality rates, all this shit matters. Why are Asians making more than white people in America? Why do women make less? The answer isn't always discrimination but there's still an answer to be found; like when you control for careers in the wage gap, but that raises another question which is why are women not going into STEM fields or Engineering at the same rates as men? I believe one day we'll all be beige and some stigmas will disappear, but that's a goal we gotta work towards and it starts by having a discussion. #38 -

We are Anglo-Saxons, Africans, Oriental, Slavic, Hispanic, Caucasian, and we each have our own differences and cultures that should be recongnized and maintained. However it is important to remember that these are all human. We are all humans, we all deserve the rights inherent to the life of a higher sentience individual. But thinking that we need to obschew our own histories and cultures and pride in our forefathers and lineage - who are the entire reason we even exist - to maintain these rights, are ludicrous and insane. I respect who am I am and what my ancestors have made me, and I respect my fellow humans and what their ancestors have made them. But race still exists, and it is important to respect our factual differences than pretend they don't exist.  why should it matter wether you hire someone with a black or a white skin? Also, if you would like I can share the various dictionary definitions of race, if that makes you feel more comfortable and less likely to ignore basic definitions. Race is a social construct of physical characteristics. We all have decendents from various geographical regions, and many have different pigments to associate with sunlight absorption. No one has a pure blood line anymore. We are all mutts. Anthropologists do not use "race" anymore as a technical term, because it is not technical. Luckly i am now able to use Matlab or Mathematica to do all the math for me and just interpret the results. | ||

| Physics undergrad here. I'm glad we mostly use "pretty" equations. They start off and end pretty. The stuff in the middle like taking the cross product of a complex vector, not so pretty. Word. Luckily, usually it's just "meh, the size is obvious and this thing here is zero/in the z direction." That is setting up your coordinate system correctly. It saves so much time and effort.
