There are people like that on both sides of the fence, there are anti-science lunatics of faith and there are anti-theist lunatics of no faith. I've found it's best just to ignore both groups, because the more attention people give them, the louder they become.

Individual beliefs which do not harm someone and in no way negatively impact the rest of the world are not subject to the scientific method. Hence why it is called "faith." Faith and science are on opposite ends of the spectrum, but people can--and many do--maintain a healthy balance between the two. If you feel the compelling urge to go out of your way to question someone's faith regardless if their faith hurts no one and causes no negative impact to the world around them, that is your right. But while you waste time doing that, the actual scientific community will tackle issues which delve into the real "tangible" world and solve practical problems, etc.

I pay no mind to people's religious beliefs as long as they don't forcefully impress them upon others unwillingly. It is when they actively seek to tear apart what the scientific community has discovered and proven (evolution, big bang, ect) that i take GREAT offense at them and start actively tearing into the "rock" that they claim their knowledge comes from.

User avatar
#83 - assyria (06/12/2015) [-]
Depends, actually. I think in Chicago, where it's most popular, they eat it with silverware, but here in Philadelphia and up in New York a lot of people eat it with their hands.

If you are from Chicago, you eat it with your hands. It is a pansy move to use silverware, that is for the New Yorkers who think they have real deep dish.

have you ever head of the chair lifting experiment? put your back against the wall with a chair in front of you. Bend over purely from the hip and try to pick up the chair. If you are a guy, YOU CAN'T. The reason, your center of balance is located over the chair so you can't lift up without moving your feet from against the wall. Women don't have this issue because their center of mass is located near the hip.

You have no problem with what, concealed carry permits? Well just so you know, you DO have to pass a class in order to get one, you MUST pass a background check, and you will be fingerprinted when you get one. You don't just walk in, plunk down $50, and walk out with a permit.
There is no such thing as a properly registered weapon, because there is no weapons registry, outside of Communist states such as California and New York. The closest thing we have is that the guns serial number is tied to your name. So if your gun shows up at a crime scene, you will have to account for it, but to be honest, guns aren't left at crime scenes very often, and when they are it's not uncommon for them to have the serial numbers ground off, unless it's stolen. There is an ATF theft hotline that you should call asap if a firearm is stolen, that will help absolve you of any charges.

#266 - alucardhell (06/11/2015) [-]
It is almost that simple in St. Louis. The instructions are basically:
fill out an application, pass a federal background check, pay $100. There are requirements like: be a resident and prove you know how to hold a gun, but that isn't that hard.

I do hate it too, I have a psychopath father who was banned from having a gun cause he was angry and had a restraining order from my mother and us on him.
So he went to a gun show and got a gun, so yea, it fucking sucks that people like that can just get guns. They're not stable and not right in the head.

He was rounding up anyone. The people who called the cops were shouting racist slurs at kids. The girl was just walking past, with no clue what was going on.

The fact that people are even trying to argue for the police officer is just sad.
There is no debate. He was wrong. No question. my god please don't spread your toxic ideas to your kids.

You are only pointing out what happened in the video. There are most likely more factors that were involved than even the media knows. If you were an officer trying to get a hold on the situation and trying to make an arrest and you have rambunctious teenagers running around and yelling at you (doesn't matter if they are black or white) and feel there is a threat then he has a right to pull out his firearm. Ask yourself what might have happened if he didn't.

well first of all. superman was created by a duo of jewish people.

second of all. he was send in a cradle as a last hope of his people into vast unknown.landed in the hands of strangers who then raised him from birth.

the travelling artic circles was a movie thing. not in the comics. he doesnt commune with his fathers spirit outside of the movies.

and coming back to life in comic books is hardly a parallel to jesus. otherwise we might as well call batman, flash,gl,wonder woman, iron man, captain america, wolverine, everybody in x men, rest of the jla, doctor and a host of other characters to be jesus pararel as well.

and superman in most incarnations actually started his carear as a teen. going by the name of superboy. i think in n52 he was like 25 or 20 or so when he started his ca rear.

A basic summary of the Christ metaphors in Superman.

From above, a heavenly father sends his only son to save the Earth. When he comes down to Earth, he is raised by two parents who originally had the names Mary and Joseph.

When Superman comes of age, he travels to the arctic wilderness to commune with his father’s spirit, which mirrors Christ’s journey into the desert.

At age 30, Superman embarks on his public mission – this is the same age as Christ. And then Superman, in his mission as ministry, fights for truth and justice, two fundamental, biblical principles to base a mission on.

He comes back to life after being killed in the last comic book published in 1992 called The Death of Superman. Then, Superman comes back to Earth – this is where the storyline in 2006's Superman Returns picks up.
