#90 - You need a set standard for mathematics, specifically arithmetic.  [+] (3 replies) 11/06/2015 on Math +4

Going from left to right works just fine. You'll get another answer but it's still an answer.

How's that for standard?

It makes writing equations incredibly cumbersome, you need to order things incredibly ridiculously instead of ways that make more mathematical sense.
For example, imagine the polynomial
Written this way, all the monomials are written together and in order of greatest power to lowest. This comes in handy for a few reasons, but we will leave those out for now. Instead, lets write it the way you'd like to write it
oh wait, we can't. we cannot. Several of these operations occur with the same precedence. We'd need parenthesis to do it right, but then we wouldn't be going left to right. We literally could not write this polynomial.

it's hilarious to see you proclaim the superiority of the West when you're so staunchly opposed to just about everything the West stands for
User avatar
#255 - youregaylol (11/05/2015) [-]
whites =/= the west
progressive media =/= the west

its perfectly fine to support the tenants that built western society while opposing this new age cultural marxist bullshit, after all western society wasn't built by baby boomers and their shitty hippy ideology

your ideology is the strange one
User avatar
#276 - Ruspanic (11/05/2015) [-]
I'm not talking about social justice or even this content specifically, I'm talking about your basic enlightenment principles of personal freedom, equality, basic human rights, democratic governance, and so on. Which this guy essentially opposes.
User avatar
#280 - youregaylol (11/05/2015) [-]
Nah, the ideas you're masquerading as pedestals of the age of enlightenment are all recent, such as the ideas of multiculturalism, the promotion of immigration, gay acceptance and LGBT propaganda in media, the promotion of interracial relationships, degenerate overt sexuality, "modern" socialism, obese worship of materialism and internationalism are all ideas chiefly rooted in the 60's boomer era.

All are the result of cultural marxist influence on western society. The Cold War era and post Cold War era attitudes are the results of this phenomenon. The Soviets died out, but before they did they left us to our own slow death at the hands of incompetent Boomer hippies and their retarded children and grandchildren.

You're trying to portray yourself as the arbiter of the west, when really your type of thinking is more parasitic, slowly draining all the greatness we once had.

Unless you remember me from other conversations we've had, I haven't given you any indication of what my views are in my comments here, except that I disagree with OP.

I genuinely believe that OP would disagree with statements like "all men are created equal" or that people have the right to "life, liberty and property/pursuit of happiness".

But since you brought it up, most of the things you listed are justified or at least acceptable on their own merits, regardless of whatever cultural marxism/Frankfurt school conspiracy theory you subscribe to. There's no reason why things like homosexuality, interracial relationships, immigration, etc, should be promoted, but there's nothing inherently wrong with those things, either. (okay, multiculturalism can actually be a bad thing if your policies suck and you don't promote integration, but there are right ways to do it. Case in point, the United States.)

"Degeneracy" is a fictitious bogeyman of the authoritarian right, kind of like the "patriarchy" is to modern feminism. It's your way of legitimizing your personal prejudices and feelings, by labeling as immoral any behavior that happens to gross you out. The notion that gay acceptance will cause societal collapse is laughable.
#313 - youregaylol (11/06/2015) [-]
you can defend homos slapping their dicks in public for equality all you want, dpoes't chaneg the fact that your ideology doesn't represent the west

>the usa is an example of the success of integration
>degeneracy doesn't exist and is an ebil rasist conspiracy theory

you've overdosed on bluepills, I pity you my weak little whiteboy friend

User avatar
#314 - Ruspanic (11/07/2015) [-]
dat appeal to emotion
Basically what I expected. Your argument is just "homos are gross and i don't like them. Also I have no real-world experience".
Just because I support gay rights doesn't mean I support public indecency. Gay people are perfectly capable of living ordinary lives without being promiscuous drag queens.

Yes, the US is a good example of a successful multicultural society. New York-style ethnic neighborhoods are fine and most legal immigrants to the US bring more good than harm and don't cause trouble. By way of contrast, see the Swedish and British cases where governments bend over backwards to cater to immigrants, resulting in whole areas where people seem to live in utter disregard for the culture and laws of their home country. I'll grant that the US is somewhat of a special case because the American nationality isn't tied to ethnicity, but still

My view of degeneracy comes almost entirely from what people like you say about it. I've never seen anyone who unironically uses the word "degeneracy" express a rational opinion about it. It's just "homos are icky and recreational sex is immoral and think of the chiiiiildren". Never any explanation of how these things are actually harmful, or why we should give a shit about them.
#315 - youregaylol (11/07/2015) [-]

New York has problems like any city, but they're not caused by multiculturalism. New York's various immigrant communities have pretty much always been a key feature of the city's character.

Moral standards should make rational sense. If you say something is immoral, you have to justify that with reasoning. It makes sense to have norms against public urination, or against more serious crimes like theft and assault and murder. In all of these cases you can clearly point to the harm those activities cause. But there's no point in having moral standards for the sake of moral standards, if those standards have no actual basis in moral reasoning and exist purely because you think they're needed for an orderly society.

Christ, just because I don't see anything wrong with homosexuality doesn't mean I'm some sort of anarchist. Are you capable of having a discussion without resorting to straw man arguments? Is this what /pol/ does to a person?
#317 - youregaylol (11/07/2015) [-]

literally not a single thing that's in any way relevant to any of my points.
Your view of me is based on a mental caricature that you have of "self-hating Tumblr librul cucks", not on anything you've actually seen me say.
Rather like your view of the world, I guess. Why bother making honest observations and using your brain when you can just wallow in the delusions you picked up on the internet? That way you never have to go outside, exert yourself or, God forbid, learn something.

#323 - youregaylol (11/07/2015) [-]
If an idiot thinks I'm wrong about everything, that means I'm usually right about everything.

Truth be told there are few things more reassuring than when a moron disagrees with you. It means you're doing something right.

You on the other hand are a mongoloid who is disagreeing with a genius, I feel much worse for you, and not just because you lack the characteristics of a man secure in himself and his place in the world.

Might I suggest a .38 cocktail through the cerebellum, emphasis on the cock.
