why just american? standard notation is universal... hence 'standard' notation.
User avatar #50 - alexeilvlrussian (01/25/2013) [-]
"Standard notation"... seriously? All of europe would read that as "fa la sol"

Clearly not all of Europe, having lived in the UK my whole life and learned how to read music; I can say I read the notes.
User avatar #54 - alexeilvlrussian (01/25/2013) [-]
Meh, you guys still use the imperial system, as does America.
#102 - Womens Study Major (01/25/2013) [-]
Are you dumb? The imperial system has nothing to do with reading standard notation. Besides, most countries in at least northern Europe would read it as F-A-G. I'm Norwegian, so I at least know that for a fact.
User avatar #55 - biomedic (01/25/2013) [-]
No we don't. We use a weird combination of both, measuring large distances in miles, but short distances in meters/centimeters. And weight in kilograms, and volumes in litres. It's only really the older generation that uses imperial, we were taught to use metric. Don't tell me about my own culture, since you clearly don't understand it.

Meh, you're still the americans of europe.

I'm from Denmark, and i can positively say that the whole of scandinavia read notes as letters: A, A#/B, H, C, C#/Db, D, D#/Eb, E, F, F#/Gb, G and G#/Ab

The whole mixup of the B/H notes was supposedly some drunk guy fucking shit up

Actually, it isnt.. Fire is nowhere near hot enough to be able to create plasma. Lightning is hot enough to tear apart an electron from the atom in the air which causes what you see in the above gif.
