You think a Green Lantern living planet is badass? Think of how much willpower someone willing to sacrifice himself for the entire human race must have

Didn't they take both Hal's and John's rings? Or was it Just Hal's? Either way, the corps lost one of the Earth lanterns, so there's an opening. And I can really see them recognizing batman as being fit for it
User avatar #36 - mcqwark (09/15/2014) [-]
Don't look at the spoilers if you haven't caught up to the latest comic.

They took Hal's ring and John's ring left to go find a replacement after Sinestro killed him so I hope they showed the part because it was implying that there will be a new Green Lantern soon. Also Guy got his arm ripped off and is falling to him doom so I assume he is dead too so they and Kyle was murdered by Sinestro before the war even started so there's no more Green lanterns for Earth I dont think.
#39 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
So I was right, there are two in Earth's sector available. Superman is already beyond saving, it's going to take an extremely massive amount of power to take him down. As stated, the planet can't really do anything, he just uses Earth as a shield. Which means the only guy who still might be able to knock a little sense into him needs to step up. Batman is going to need the ring to be able to do this
User avatar #41 - mcqwark (09/15/2014) [-]
Was Kyle a part of earth's sector? Because if so there should be 3 if Hal isn't included. Because Kyle, Guy, and John all actually died. But Sinestro ripped off Kyle's finger when he took the ring so does the mean Sinestro somehow kept the ring from finding a new owner? Because I thought it was pretty fucked up when he did that unless there was a reason...
#43 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
Kyle was human, just another lantern for our sector. I think his ring might be completely out of commission after what happened to him, I would assume Sinestro used his own ring's power to keep it powerless
User avatar #115 - mcqwark (09/16/2014) [-]
I feel like the same thing is going to happen to Guy's ring. Unless he ends up getting saved at the last second.

didn't Batman once put on the Green Lantern ring and it rejected him?
I think it was in Justice League cartoon
#19 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
At this point, with batman and his ragtag group of heroes (and villains turned heroes), being the only ones out of the entire Justice league who were able to recognize just how wrong what superman was doing, not to mention Batman's total unwillingness to take a life, I would think the ring would consider him to be more worthy than nearly anybody on the planet (short of a Buddhist monk, but they would be too non-violent to do it to begin with)
#10 - threadoffate (09/15/2014) [-]
That is why the guardian must die. He needs to die to release the rings he has so one can find batman
#11 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
That would apply to the ring he wears himself, which would presumably go to a replacement guardian from his sector. Hal's being from Earth's sector, wouldn't he just have to tell the ring to go to Batman, Batman coming from Hal's sector?
#12 - threadoffate (09/15/2014) [-]
Yes the ring of the guardian would go find another guardian but he took the ring straight from Hal without giving it the chance to find a new user. So he must die to let the ring free.
#13 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
But he's not wearing Hal's ring. Whish means it wouldn't recognize he had died the same way his own would (I don't know, do they have heartbeat monitors or something, some way of detecting life signs in their wearers?) We've already seen rings passed on before death in the past, and this one, he's kinda just holding in a pouch. Seems like it would really be as easy as saying "Here, Batman, take this most powerful handheld weapon in the universe, please don't abuse it like Hal did"
#14 - threadoffate (09/15/2014) [-]
While that is a possibility, with superman in such close proximity and bat man so far away it would seem more likely that someone is going to die. I don't think that it is on when their hearts stop beating, to me it looks a lot like an automatic program that activates whenever the ring isn't around someone it is safe with.
#15 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
Of course the ring recognizing that it was taken from a lantern by a guardian, I would assume it just kinda went into hibernation mode, awaiting being awarded to someone the guardian recognized as being worthy of the ring I just really want to see that fucking planet again
#20 - threadoffate (09/15/2014) [-]
Agreed on the planet but I think the next we are going to see of it is one desperate energy blast before being eviscerated and destroyed in spectacular fashion by superman also with lots of collateral damage most likely
I am not as familiar with the green lantern comics as some of the others but it always looked to me like the rings have some very limited will of there own. it would really depend on the Guardians last act. maybe he send the ring somewhere
#21 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
I somehow doubt Supes could take out a whole living planet, especially since it wiped out 3/4ths of the Sinestro corps in one single blast
#25 - threadoffate (09/15/2014) [-]
I thought it was 1/4. He already survived the blast once. I don't care how big you are if something drills through your body then you are going to feel something. Plus now that superman has the yellow ring he will be feeding off of the fear of all the green lanterns he is crushing with his strength. Also the planet can't fire if he keeps the earth behind him
#31 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
He'd feel it, for sure, but you're talking about superman destroying something at least as big as the entire moon, maybe even the Earth. It would take weeks just to kill the one planet, and by then, the rest of supe's army would probably already be toast
#40 - threadoffate (09/15/2014) [-]
He killed an entire invasion in a split second all over the planet, with the planet he just needs to destroy the core and he is home free.
#42 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
Yeah, but that was aliens on the surface, and surface area is far less than the volume of the sphere within. Assuming the living planet is the size of the earth, the core would be about halfthe size of our moon, at least. Assuming the living planet's internal physiology is even anything like Earth's to begin with.
#116 - threadoffate (09/16/2014) [-]
Ya it was ill advised to make the game before finishing the books. I can see a third book after this as well. When batman loses the war and goes into hiding then superman and wonder woman's child disagrees with his parents ideology and runs away only to be found by batman and trained, thus giving the advantage to batman and ending superman reign of terror
#108 - threadoffate (09/15/2014) [-]
No they haven't but every time that superman has been in trouble so far she has done something, so I think she is going to wake up soon.
#110 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
Interesting to note, and I think this kinda proves that the ending is going to be nothing likethe game, the game shows Hal Jordan as a Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman as being on Batman's side. That's already a pretty huge difference right there
#55 - threadoffate (09/15/2014) [-]
There is going to be an unfortunate amount of death before this ends. and superman and wonder woman haven't even had there kid yet.
#101 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
I don't think Wonder Woman ever got pregnant to begin with
#49 - threadoffate (09/15/2014) [-]
we will have to see how much power that yellow ring gives him
#53 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
Nearly every non-superhuman on earth is terrified of him, and the yellow lantern ring is fuled by the fears of others. He's going to basically be even more of a god than he already is, a "supergod", if you will
#44 - threadoffate (09/15/2014) [-]
very true. then again he went through the joker pretty easy. and large concrete and steal walls are not much trouble. did they need to dig for the Atlantis stunt again? He might just use his heat vision and drill through the planet that way. It will be cool to see how it ends up
#45 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
Atlantis took him and 5 or 6 other super beings to pull off, though. He couldn't do it alone. And I can't picture someone who can't even lift a puny city to be able to take out an entire planet
#5 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
Batmanb won't kill him, I can pretty much guarantee that, but he'll fuck him up pretty bad

#3 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
The only logical way for injustice to go at this point would be for Batman to take the super pill, and get a Green Lantern ring (probably Hal Jordan's). Then we finally get what basically amounts to god Vs. god
#104 - gruntmastr (09/15/2014) [-]
Batman with Hals ring? Holy shit.
User avatar #77 - loonquawl (09/15/2014) [-]
Spoiler
That's not what happens.
Play the game.
#113 - anonymous (09/15/2014) [-]
comics take place before that game
#111 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
Besides, the game shows Wonder Woman on Batman's side, and Hal still has his Green Lantern ring. I think we can safely assume the comics have told the game largely to fuck off
User avatar #112 - loonquawl (09/15/2014) [-]
Comics take place before the main story line of the game for the most part, before the alt versions showed up.
#102 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
The game is really just a DC Comics mortal combat clone.-Aside from the name, there's not actually much of a story to it
User avatar #60 - itsdead (09/15/2014) [-]
You can see how it "ends" if you play the game or watch the gameplay on youtube.
User avatar #47 - ugottanked (09/15/2014) [-]
Wait, i thought the Injustice comic was over? or am i mistaken?
#50 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
They started with a year two, and the last issue involved Superman becoming a yellow lantern. I really can't picture this being over yet
User avatar #54 - ugottanked (09/15/2014) [-]
Oh..

Fuck, i still need to finish where i was reading before, know a place i can read the comic, or download it?

#27 - phoenixactual (09/15/2014) [-]
Yeah, but Doctor Fatre's helmet is kinda part of his whole thing, he wears it for a reason. At least the ring isn't being used by anybody
User avatar #29 - iceguy (09/15/2014) [-]
