In any event, the channel looks like it's building itself to being an entire right-wing network.
A young yet tactful libertarian-conservative (Ben Shapiro) who's apt on fighting the left side of issues. The most promising in terms of presenting anything worth watching and could probably prove a crucial factor in how the media is shaped/reshaped in the next generation.
An older conservative Tea party member (Bill Whittle) who explains the issues on a right slant and is more interested in securing Republican votes than actually solving or correcting an issue (then again, that could be said for all three of these guys)
And an even older conservative (Andrew Klavan) whose more focused on trying to appear 2PoliticallyIncorrect4Libruls then actually following any of the objectivity of the more tact of the group and hinges solely on "everything I say his a harsh truth and if you can't believe it, you're just a soft liberal".

Andrew Klavan: Attack of the But-Heads!
That's pretty much Andrew Klavan in a nutshell from what I'm seeing of his videos. I don't understand how conservatives can stomach watching this guy because it looks like he's catering to the lowest possible denominator from videos like this. This isn't anything remotely different from the crap TYT puts out, in some ways it's worse.

You also have to take into account that marvel considers the movies their own universe. They have the liberty to do that, they can change things. The core aspects of the characters was the same though. And Garfield doesn't portray the repressed nerd, that spiderman started off as before he had powers, instead he portrays the person spiderman is now. He isn't a repressed nerd for very long, even in the comics. And the hipster qualities was just updating it to modern times. I mean for god sakes, peter was a photographer, and a nerd, but not the hopeless type of nerd. A good modern version of that is a shyish hipster, and he plays it well, of course becoming more confident when he gets his powers, just like peter did.
Also, Lizard was Spiderman's first villain, so that much was close. Origin of him was relatively close to the comics. But again, it's a different medium, they can't follow the comics to the dime, and sometimes to make the movie better in it's medium it has to adapt. They changed the characters how they felt it would best fit a movie. Electro they went a bit more extreme, but I think they relied on more Ultimate with him, which I don't know as much about that universe so I can't really speak about that as much.

He's a hybrid between the traditional old Amazing Spiderman and the Ultimate Spiderman. Of course they also took liberties with other aspects because they were creating a spiderman only world, so they had to alter some things, also because of the movie medium. But Toby's Spiderman wasn't that great when it came to the comics.
User avatar #65 - akkere (02/12/2015) [-]
Toby's Spiderman wasn't close to the comics in any regard, but neither is Garfield's Spiderman. In The Amazing Spiderman, he's come off more as a weird hipster than a nerd with a repressed personality.
Not to mention the liberties they took were EXTREME. I don't understand how anyone can say "The Amazing Spiderman is so close to the comics!" when both the Lizardman and Electro aren't anything close to their comic counterparts in either The Amazing Spiderman (which is kind of what it's named after) or Ultimate Spiderman. They took liberties that were unnecessary and didn't do anything to improve the characters or the concepts they were built from.

"that would mute a Stream if it was detected they were playing even a trace of copyrighted music?"

That only happens in the recorded video, and they're legally obliged to, Copyright is a bitch.

"Even if they themselves had the rights to said music?"

I don't know where you got this from, but here's how muting works

Server has a sample of the music, and the copyright for it
Server identifies that "XskullgirlX" is using "MonsterCat - banzawanza" while being paid by Twitch subscriptions
Server doesn't know if you have copyrights, and so mutes to PREVENT you from breaking copyright
In the future you can claim the mute and explain that you bought the song and it wasn't a music video on youtube

for people who OWN the music

It's most unlikely since the creator should:

Contact Twitch
Put his sample + copyright on their database

which is not a thing most "online" creators ( or Indie, if you want ) can or WANT to, because it's a lot of work.

but let's say they do, how does the server know that it's YOU? and it's not some other stupid bitch using your music?

the Mute is to prevent copyright claiming, which hurt the website itself, then you claim it, and it's all good.
User avatar #94 - akkere (02/09/2015) [-]
The server also mutes soundtracks within the video game itself and takes out a whole 30 minute block of the VOD regardless of how short the soundtrack actually is present.

And for Christ's sake, the official Dota 2 VOD got muted for their own game music; music that Valve even announced was allowed to be used by anyone in general.
It's a guilty until proven innocent program and it's the most hamfisted thing ever concocted to handle copyright claims. The appeals system leaves people without getting any response even if it's just a simple question as to why their VOD got muted.

When I say tea and i'm assuming other british people say tea I'm referring to black tea, which as far as I know dissolves properly at 100 degrees.

And I haven't ever successfully brewed tea in a microwave to 100 degrees without it boiling over so I don't know how you suggest to deal with that, but based on what you've put as a solution in your comment, it just seems a lot easier to use a kettle anyway.
User avatar #49 - akkere (02/09/2015) [-]
Ah, a lot of people I've seen who drink tea in the States will often drink Green tea as well as other varieties such as White, but still put it under the same boiling conditions that would only fit Black or Oolong. I just assumed Green Tea also had some kind of presence in Britain as well.

Truth be told, I'm not sure why anyone would microwave tea to begin with unless they didn't think it mattered or they thought it was as simple as making hot cocoa, where you can just pour chocolate in, microwave the milk with it inside, and just mix it away with a spoon. Most people who have microwaves have stoves of some kind, and from what I've seen most break rooms of working areas have these sort of electric kettles that maintain water at a boiling point (yet the only tea available will be green).

They (Relic; video game devs with licensing from Games Workshop to make DoW) were cycling back and forth between working on DoW and then working on Company of Heroes, mostly focusing resources on the latter. THQ became pepsi and Relic got passed around until DoW ultimately falling into Sega's hands when they bought Relic (not sure if gud). No news so far though on DoWIII after that whole fiasco.

Seems we're mostly going to have Spess Mehrines for a bit.

I feel as if the eve of anti-SJW has given cause for /pol/lacks to be more able to spread their influence across the web, being that they can not only oppose feminiazism, but feminism as a whole through a simple push a line of posting. This post in particular doesn't quite show that, but I've noticed in other areas of posting.

We can't exactly sway anyone with offensive measures, in any case. We should push for them to see the dangers of going too far into the offensive against plagues like SJW and feminazism, and have them approach moderation rather than fundamentalism.

Kinda ****** . I underestimated Jewlius Caesar's defenses and thought I could at least take the bordering town of Antium and hold fast before I get the next big military advancements. My biggest problem is I didn't realize he'd get Praetorians so soon, given his low score. So right now I've just pulled back my troops and wait till I need to bum rush the town, but the Praetorians are getting ballsy.

Town growth is pretty optimal. I think I'm going to turn around and keep expanding, as I've got plenty of space to establish into before I run into obstacles, and I need to start building more gold outputs.

I'll see if I can load the game up to the save and whack it out

Random political question (No, it's not a homework question.)

But do you think a utopia is possible?
User avatar #429 to #428 - akkere (02/16/2014) [-]
Possible? Sure. Probable? Nope.
User avatar #430 to #429 - jingleforth (02/16/2014) [-]
How would it be possible?
User avatar #431 to #430 - akkere (02/16/2014) [-]
Different political ideologies claim different methods to acquiring their idea of a "utopia". Being that the general definition of a utopia is a land where everyone's satisfaction can be met, the only way I'd see it be achieved and maintained, is through creating something like "The Matrix", where people are placed into a virtual reality to live the happiest lives they possibly can, and keeping their real selves fed and sustained.

Please keep in mind I've never drawn before, haven't used a pencil in years, etc.

Yes, I know I ****** up the fingers. ;_;
User avatar #423 to #422 - akkere (02/15/2014) [-]
Seems pretty solid in my opinion. Thumb's a little longer than it needs to be, but that could be adjusted with time. You just need to add additional detail to the fingers.

Is it alright for me being a beginner?
User avatar #425 to #424 - akkere (02/15/2014) [-]
Seems to be pretty fine, as long as you intend to keep moving along the path of improvement.
Can you draw any other parts of a human being (other than like, genitals).
User avatar #426 to #425 - jingleforth (02/15/2014) [-]
I'm not sure. I tried drawing a head.

Got a decent structure, could use some work on features. I really just want to be able to draw body structure. I've been looking for guides, but never bothered to actually try drawing it..

I had a pic of a head I was drawing, but I can't find it.

Can you draw?

Nup. But I worked with a relatively professional animator for a long time, dating as far back as when he was an amateur that aspired to be the best he could possibly be.
