Ashe is an ADC. An attack damage carry. Carries usually start off weak, but grow stronger late-game. Thus, they are usually paired with a support on bot lane.
Bruisers (fighters, champs who can take damage, as well as deal it) will usually duke it out in top lane. They will also usually be solo.
Mid is usually for the APC, ability power carry. Same as the ADC, only they go mid solo.
When you're first starting out, it's very rare to see junglers, and due to a huge amount of people starting to play and finally hitting 30, lots of games at lvl 30 are missing junglers, now-a-days. Which sucks. But ranked matches will almost always have one.
Then there is the jungler, whom roams the jungle and ganks whenever possible.
AS and AD isn't a bad build for Ashe. But depending on your playstyle, you may want to change it up, and you always want to build according to the enemy team. The guides on Mobafire are great.

Can i just say I find the dota fags hilarious. They never pass up a chance to bash lol when they can and always demonstrate a very poor grasp of the game and mechanics. Also Dota beta keys they give those out as fast and they can and in large numbers and no one fucking wants them. Everyone I know whose has actually tried dota 2 has hated it and uninstalled it after a game or two. Face it dota fags your game is dead before even being released.

Oh and rule #1 of LoL is to never, under any circumstances speak. Learn how to ping every so often and that's it. The community (i won't lie or sugarcoat it) as a whole sucks. Sure you'll find the unoccasional gem of a player. But as a majority it's all people who love to get at each other's necks at any moment. Don't speak and don't die. The second the team internally argues is the second you lose. Don't call anyone out on mistakes because in the long run one single mistake doesn't decide a victory or loss. People like to say "oh he lost us the game there." but in all honesty it's quite depressing to hear that stated. There's an infinite number of sequences and reasons that could go on forever if only one person was at a different place at any different time.
-Don't talk to anyone.
-Play for yourself. Don't try to help others unless you benefit somehow.
-Realize a majority of the people could care less about how you feel about anything.
-Avoid death as much as possible unless you take at least two with you for sure.
-Watch the mini-map for bullshit going on. Trust no one to even bother to call "MIA (missing in action) aka; the opposing person has left the lane.
In short; have fun and honestly just enjoy yourself. Trust nobody to save you in return for saving them.

-Stage 2 boots (berserker greaves or mercury treads depending on enemy team)
-Guardian Angel(GA)/some other durability item. But GA is most common.
I suggest watching a match or two of ranked diamond play (live spectate in-game) focusing on finding an Ashe match. This will show you how you can use your Hawkshot (i think it's called, it's the one that gives vision after you shoot it an adjustable range).
Ashe is a relatively simple champion to play as long as you have someone decent covering you in bottom lane. Sadly as you level up you'll notice the AD bruisers (bulky people who take hits very easily and love damage exchanges) will shut you out top. Your place is bottom lane as the ADC with the support to make sure you never die.
Remember the lanes should look something like this:
-High-sustain champ top (typically AD bruisers)
-Whatever jungler that felt like showing up
-APC(ability power carry, often mage-type champs) mid-lane.
-ADC bot lane.
-Support of some kind bot lane covering the ADC.
I suggest getting a friend and queuing together at some point. One of you support, whatever. That's it for my brief explanation of LoL lanes/Ashe.
