not a criminal thing but there are forums where you can sell cars for parts online, or even scrap it yourself to sell the parts off.

Does selling parts give you a decent amount of cash? Wondering if selling pieces of a broken down car would be profitable.

depends on the condition of the part, and the amount of want for the parts/car.

My brother and his friends used to buy old cars from people for cheap, strip them for parts to sell online, then sell the rest for scrap metal. Usually would end up earning triple what they spent.

Well you will need to get your hands dirty, and may need to buy a lot of tools and whatnot. They did it as a group because together, they had everything they needed. I believe they mainly did it for extra cash when needed though, so it wasn't a permanent way to make money
