It's a pretty straightforward plan. When zombies start outbreaking in large numbers, there will be a lot of collateral damage and pandemonium in the streets. The first thing I would do would be to board up my windows at home. The doors can hold out longer so they wouldn't be immediate priority. The second thing I would do would be to fill every sink, bathtub and empty container with water from the tap. When the water lines go, i want to be able to have a stock of water at the ready. Unfortunately, my next step would be to kill my dog. It would kill me to do it, but he's too hyper, too loud and would be more trouble that it's worth to give him rations and try and make him travel. He would ultimately get me killed and I would rather put him down myself than watch him die from being devoured. If there was time i would give him a proper burial in the back yard, provided the fences were still standing. The next thing i would do is i would move all the food upstairs. Canned goods and everything. Tools would also be moved upstairs for safe keeping. Axe, hammers, etc. Lastly I would destroy my stairs. If everything I have is up there already, they're only going to serve as my death if something gets in the house. I would hold out up there as long as I could. Eventually my rations would go down and I would have to leave. But that's just my introductory plan. It will last me at least a week and that's all i'll need to make a plan to get to a new safe house. Thanks for reading.

aiwendel (04/30/2012) [-] But your dog can serve to distract the zombies in a scenario where they get in your house. And even if you survive this one week, how will you get to a new safe house? Zombies do not sleep ergo they will be around your house all the time. It's better to find common shelter with 2-3 more friends. Going on a boat is not a bad idea too, fishing would be extremely useful.
