I'm referring to his show, not the one tidbit. He has two episodes in particular that I have a huge problem with. The rest isn't offensive, just bad. For someone who grew up on Bill Nye the Science Guy, I was rather deeply disappointed in the return of his show. Some of the science is just wrong or pure conjecture well outside of his range of expertise. Even the stuff that is right is demonstrated wrongly.

That's to say nothing of the actual show...which is just poorly done. This feels like something someone did in their garage with no budget. Not a return of one of the biggest names in pop science since Carl Sagan.

It was, through and through, a disappointment.

I went back and watched those episodes and he's an entertainer for sure. You're exactly right. Guess they set him up to be a "scientist" and everyone knew him as "bill nye the science guy" so no one questioned it.
