Ofcourse yea, the thing is though that he says a36 is a construction or structural steel
but a36 would be used for rivets, bolts and welds
it wouldnt actually be used as a support beam

you dont understand, there isnt just "steel", steel comes in different tempers of hardness, acid resistance, heat resistance etc.

Also a 1cm thick and 50 cm thick wouldnt lose the same % of strength when heated, it depends on the source of the heat, the temperature of said heat and what type of steel is used.

A9 HC steel would bend at 425 degrees
whereas a50 HC steel would start to bend at 700 degrees.

I know there are lots and lots of different types of steel. I don't know what they used for the towers, could simply be s235, or any other type of constructional steel.
But that doesn't really matter here, since practically all steeltypes used for construction will weaken when heated. offcourse there are quite large differences in strength loss, so if the steel will weaken enough to make the building collapse isn't sure, but that's not the point he's making here.

People are saying the towers couldn't collapse, because the steel didn't melt, but the point he's making is that steel (whatever type) will also weaken when heated below the melting point.
