Hobophobic (09/11/2012) [-] yeah I'm really sorry about that, I didn't know how to phrase it without sounding like an asshole. They're both very solid weather archetypes. In singles, rain is far better because, remember, drizzle + swift swim is banned. Even without that, you get some very juicy abusers in Rotom-w, Tornadus, and Jirachi. Sandstorm teams aren't really ss teams as much as they are Tyranitar + Landorus or Garchomp + water resists and things to cover the inherent weaknesses a team of rock / steel / ground types would give you. As far as doubles, they're much more equal. Rain teams are "autopilot" teams for noobs, and most good players can handle rain very easily- that said, rain being easy to use makes it good for inexperienced players. Sand teams require a certain finesse to use (after all, its hard to spam EQ when you need to bring tyranitar every battle), but I find these teams to be much more successful at high level play. | ||

parlimantum (09/10/2012) [-] Well, this is for ingame, so I would want my starter, and it would be pretty difficult to get DW Vulpix and Bulbasaur without Pokegen'ing it, which I don't want to do. I prefer Swellow to Staraptor, mostly for nostalgia, and with Guts and Toxic Orb, plus it's good Speed and Facade makes it a pretty good one to revenge kill. #46799 -
