I don't think Guatemala will be the next Venezuela. Venezuela is a staple example of what happens to irresponsible people being the majority of citizens. Never forget the massacre of free trade all for one -50% day.

I totally agree though, when countries hit international attention, corruption gets heavily monitored. Total win for the country.

what I think:

Guatemala is currently under stress and honesyly the smell of coup d'etat is in the air
we need quick action, honeslty i dont want to end up like Venezuela, hisotry made a massacre out of the last armed conflict, and we have enough wars in the world as it is.

internation aid will give a presidential duo a fair trial, people here are corrupt, they would buy the judges almost instantly`, they have pretty much all the money they want here, bringing them against international courts (like they did with Rios Mont and Alfonso Portillo (google those))
