that has nothing to do with it, he could be mentall set from birth, as can transexuals, some people are just always going to be cisgendered, like this boy while others will alwys be transgendered or fluidgndered, it is more than a social constiuct, its a mental constuct that can happen from epigenomes the same way sexualities do.

The US Military is going to remain the same size as it is now for the next 10 years.
Now I'm not for massive shrinking of the military, but I'm not really concerned that it will happen either,

America is surrounded by ocean and Canada. We don't need a huge army of ground troops, just a kick-ass Navy. Which we already have. I'm more worried about our crippling national debt that's in the trillions than a slightly smaller army.
"hey America is downsizing the Army. Now's our chance to attack!" - Said no one ever.

The debt you guys have is not really gonna cripple you. I know it sounds that way, when people start throwing the word "trillion" around, but there's a catch...
Most of the debt the US has, is actually to the Federal Government, and the US people.
If you take out ALL of the money that the US owes to the FG, and the rest... The total foreign debt goes down to about 3% of your GDP.
If you also take into account that, for every 1 Dollar the US owes to other countries, other countries owe the US about 90 cents. So that further reduces your debt.
When you take into account that over 70% of paper US currency circulates outside of the US, as it's being used for worldwide trading, that ensures that the US debt will always stay cheap, and could easily be returned by taking money out of the GDP to pay for it (around 2% after everything).
Problem is, if people stop trusting the US Dollar, and start buying government bonds from some other country, then the US debt will become more expensive, and then and only then, you'd start having a crisis. Thing is, that will never happen, so no worries man.
tl;dr You'll be fine.

An Air force, Navy, and Ground Combat force is critical in defending your country.
Anyone who argues otherwise has not done enough research into wars in the past century.

Yes, if we really want to defend, we just need to have a great Navy. But, oh wait, whats that? Oh yea, Alaska. they can send thousands of troops across that in less than an hour, and knowing Russia, they wont give a shit how many they lose. Plus, if China gets involved, they have a weapon that can sink our best carrier in one hit. Also, I'm not about ready to leave Europe to the Russians. Just look what they did to Eastern Europe. They're just now getting their culture back, and in comes Russia, about to fuck it all up again, and maybe go further to the West.

Do you honestly think a country is just going to decide to attack the most powerful superpower in the world with the largest and most advanced military on this planet?
Even if we were just some small random 2nd world country with no military at all, the international community and United Nations would strongly condemn and intervene if Russia or China (both permanent members of the UN) just randomly decided to launch a full-scale military invasion.
No offense, but you don't seem to know what you're talking about and I don't have the time to actually explain everything to you.
#69 - demigodofmadness (03/02/2014) [-]
Why would you be scared of Russia? If they sent all of their troops here they would be out of a military. Do you think the massive amount of money we spend on the military was to paint the kevlar vests? If they send troops by ship we'll sink their ships, if they send planes, we'll knock them out of the sky and if they swim we'll shoot them when they get on shore. We are very well defended, you should be worried about a simultaneous attack from Canada and Mexico, while any other country sends troops by sea and air, that would be a difficult war to win.

;/ While I did vote Obama (cause I disliked Romney's policies more), I have to agree with this observation. Romney was proven right in time.
However to be fair I don't think anyone saw this coming in 2012, and that Romney may just have been talking out of his ass. I personally remember thinking to myself during that debate.....wait a minute, isn't China our greatest geopolitical foe right now? This guy must be a few years behind. And apparently the military must have thought something like that too since our focus has been on Asia.
