I still think its good even thought it was targeting young girls. The only annoying parts was Kagome and Shippo episodes. Also Kagome yelling for Inuyasha all the time got annoying.

Other then that, good anime, can't go wrong when you have a giant sword and yelling.

I didn't like Inuyasha regardless, but I'll try to remain unbiased while explaining.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with shoujo, but for Inuyasha, the shoujo elements took too much precedence for a show with so many shounen characteristics (headstrong overpowered main character, team of good guys with varied powers fighting demons in an alternate world, etc;). Inuyasha probably could have been objectively better if they made it 'more shounen', and focused on the battles much more than they did the romance. Don't get me wrong, romantic subplot is great to have in an anime, but it just doesn't fit well enough as the main focus of a show about demons and fighting. And of course, strong fans of the show would disagree with me saying that it should be more shounen, because they enjoyed the shoujo aspects, but I still say it could have been an overall better show (although with a very different fanbase).

I will say this,the episodes where Inuyasha went full on badass Demon were some of the best ones...

Of course. I loved it as a kid, but did groan at a lot of the romance scenes. And it all made more sense to me once I found out that the author was a woman.

I"m getting to that point myself with anime, they just blend together in terms of stories and characters, it's more cliche than american TV now, and I never thought I'd say that. I think there's a reason to that but that will take to long to explain. Anyway, I love anime, it doesn't have to make sense, you just to have let yourself go in their world, like math, in order to understand, you must be in its world. Ok that's stupid but I hope you get the idea. The problem I have with anime is the new ones of today, the old ones aren't so bad, like pre-2005. Pokemon is still awesome fuck you XD (jk), the only thing I hate about Pokemon is the show, and bronies, no comment, but I don't like or watch the show either...
