Really, man. I wasn't trying to bait anything. Like, I was questioning the physics of the content. The girl kicked the dummy from the side, yet the bottle flew straight up. Then I remembered that it's just a gif with a little girl kicking a bottle and I shouldn't question the validity because it's just what it is. No reason to be serious.

If it is a decent bag to be hitting, it will mostly absorb the side-impact of the kick from the padding, but the whole thing kind of jolts up a bit. That is likely what is happening here. It doesn't work like that with adults that can kick it harder than the padding can completely absorb, but that sort of thing is very common to see with small children on the bag.
I'm a brown belt that frequently aids in the instructing of a kid's class.

I mean, even if the force of the kick was to send the bottle up, it wouldn't go that high! Unless she directly kicked the bottle. Because most of the force was absorbed by the dummy. If you watch closely, the dummy actually does what I posted in the beginning, but the bottle just flies straight up, as if pulled by a string.

Perhaps the top of the bag wasn't taught, so it was a bit concave in shape. When she kicked the bag, it rapidly depressed the side increasing the pressure in the bag. The increased pressure causes the concave top to flatten out, launching the bottle.
Don't know if that happened but I guess it's possible

it is possible, as the kick makes contact the force of the kick causes a ripple of kinetic energy that spreads outward in all available directions including up. an empty water bottle could easily be launch straight up the issue is using just enough power in the first kick to launch the bottle without tipping the bag then to follow up with the second kick is quite easy for experienced martial artist (3rd degree black belt with instruction permit here)

So, kicking a bottle straight up, at those speeds, with the strength that the little girl could muster is possible? I mean, I'd understand if the bottle was sent skywards, I can get that far, but at the speed it did when she made contact... I'm having trouble believing it.
And one could argue that the dummy was filled with water, which could explain why the dummy moves after the kick had already been done. But wouldn't the whole thing move? Not just the red part? Even then, it'd take less than a second for the water to recoil, but there is too much time between the kick and when it moves.
I dunno. I tried not focusing on it, because, after all, it was just a little girl kicking a bottle.

ya the bag moving at the end was weird i'll admit, might just be the camera but i had an 8 year old in my class who could use a bo staff twice his size with ease he had the hardest kicks cause his center of gravity was so low (he was a black belt by age 7) never underestimate a person do to their size

Well, if the camera is the culprit, then why doesn't the rest of the image move? I've been focused on this for a while and I've centered every minor change. The base doesn't move at all, just the top. That's why I'm questioning the validity of this gif, at the very moment.
I'm trying to look at this as if it were a grown man kicking this bottle. I'm just confused, is all. People don't seem to be very happy with me saying that it doesn't matter that physics shouldn't be discussed. Lol.
