A power vacuum like what happened in Iraq and Afghanistan wouldn't happen in NK, as NK would be given to SK and the whole peninsula would be just 'Korea' again, though getting the North Koreans acclimated to civilization would be the biggest problem the liberating forces would face, you know, because they don't know what plumbing is and eat grass.

the US government was not trying to "help" iraq or afghanistan; they were trying to protect oil profits in iraq after saddam stopped trading oil in USD, and switched to a local gold based currency for all oil trades.

_"Iraq remains a destabilising influence to... the flow of oil to international markets from the Middle East. Saddam Hussein has also demonstrated a willingness to threaten to use the oil weapon and to use his own export programme to manipulate oil markets. This would display his personal power, enhance his image as a pan-Arab leader... and pressure others for a lifting of economic sanctions against his regime. The United States should conduct an immediate policy review toward Iraq including military, energy, economic and political/diplomatic assessments. The United States should then develop an integrated strategy with key allies in Europe and Asia, and with key countries in the Middle East, to restate goals with respect to Iraqi policy and to restore a cohesive coalition of key allies." - Dick Cheney, ca 2001

we invaded afghanistan for reasons unknown, but it is interesting to note that poppyfield production rates tripled under US control, and the US has faced a "heroin epidemic" that started sometime in 2004.

inb4 "oh but iraqs oil was nationalized and closed to the west pre 2003"

1) and now it isnt, and the people making the money are saudi royalty and oil execs

2) the US currency value is tied directly to the price of oil; look up the petrodollar

Yeah, I think you can buy alcohol in bars and restaurants everywhere in northern europe at 18, but to buy in stores it's 20 in Sweden, 18 for beer and wine and 20 for liquor in Finland, 18 in Denmark and in Norway it's 18 for wine and beer and 20 for liquor.

I actually bought some alcohol a few weeks ago in Finland when I was up in northern Sweden by the border, first time I bought it myself. I'm not desperate enough to regularly go to bordering country to get hammered, though, it's just gonna be nice to not have to go through with the hassle of someone buying for you or going to another country.

Redbox. I live right next to a safeway, so they get games in as soon as they come out, but apparently not many gamers live nearby since their games are seldom rented out. You could always check to see if Gamefly is available in Canada, it seems like it would be.
