1. We use mate for most things or we just don't address someone. (we're still figuring out how to address people, its a nationwide problem) - actually we just don't bother with formality.
An example "excuse me, do you know where the koala enclosure is"
It will be a bit difficult to adjust, but not addressing someone is standard practice and it's not seen as rude its completely normal.
We are very informal.
2.I thought you meant usa foods we dont have... well not really apart from tim tams there wasn't much, if anything it was better because there's dr.peper and reeces pieces and pop tarts and all that stuff. Most of that stuff is imported but its hard to find.
3.Tony abbot is considered a fuckwit. Everyone hates julia gillard.
Cricket, house prices are expensive, politics and stuff. I dunno really news is news i guess and trend wise... our culture is basically one big trend or something.
4. I cant remember very much at all relating to that, ive forogtten most of it as its been 3 years since i was in merica.
Anyway the surprise is exciting, its an exploration of cultural differences that you should enjoy. (Thats what it was like when i was in merica anyway)
5.Yes, sort of, but its not the the same, we got ice tea and mcdonalds may have sweet tea.
6. Yes. but they are all in new south wales.
The food is very similar to the american ones, i can see why you would want to know about them. Also they are a mockery of Australian cuisine, not that matters but just so you know.

3. Perth is a black hole void of time and space
4. Don't be arrogant you will get punched in the head
5. Try not to swear in public
6. Sunscreen! it is summer here Perth is hot as the devils butthole it is about 110 degrees for you Amerifags

Just had to re-write this... commented on something else... woops...
I was in merica 3 years and 6 years ago for a few months at a time so im practically an expert. or close enough.

1. restrooms are called tiolets
2. we dont use sir/mam
3. aussie police will book you for doing 1km over speed limit so dont speed
4. if you want a drink look for a pub
5. woolworths and coles sells food. Myer, target, k-mart, david jones, etc sell clothes and shit.
6. dont try doing an aussie accent we hate it so much
7. say that Australia is even better than you expected, we love tourists who think straya is awesome
8. dont have to tip waiters, can if you want too
9. to travel 100km at 100km/h it takes an hour, 50km is 30 min, 150km is 90 min, etc.
10. Shit here is expensive and smaller. A 600ml bottle of coke is $1.50-$2.00 in merica and $2.80-$3.50 or more in straya.
11. You wont see kangaroo's jumping around the airport they are out in the bush not all over the damn street there are shit loads of them around but they aren't everywhere.
12. Which city/cities are you visiting? Better not be syndey its full of wankers.
13. Go out into the country and see shit like the Buchan caves.
14. There's more to straya than ayers rock and the great barrier reef, places like sovereign hill in ballarat are a prime example of places to go that aren't in the middle of nowhere or really expensive.

Photo is summer in straya at lake eildon.
Its redneck country around there.

15. Don't go too Queensland its fucking expensive. You can if you want too but be prepared for the price's...
17. For places to go ask the locals or look at maps theres plenty of places to see and by asking locals or Aussies in general you get to see the ones that aren't infested with tourists and something different. Or something like that.
18. Don't wear things that have the aussie flag or shit on them , aussie animals are ok but flags look stupid.
19. Be prepared for plenty of slang, you'll know of g'day mate but there's plenty more you wont know. In melbourne/victoria we use mate like its going out of fashion, most other states are the same but not all.
20. I cant think of anything else so if you've got any questions ask away.
21. Sorry if this advice is vague or confusing i've had to wrtie this twice and im not very awake yet.

America was awesome makes me sad remembering the trip i did with my brother and father it was amazing (west coast 6 years ago, east coast 3 years ago) i hope i can get back over there in the next couple of years.

If you've got any questions ask away its sunday and I've got nothing better to do.

Hey, thanks for all the info. Ill be spending most of my tine in Perth. Here are some other questions that I have.
1. If there's no Sir/Mam is there another way to address someone?
2. Are there any specific type of foods in Australia that aren't in USA. Like something you missed having back home or were surprised we didn't have?
3. What sort of trends or popular news is going on there, so when I hear about it or see it on TV I hopefully wont be completely lost.
4. Is there anything we do in the States that might seem weird or stupid in Straya.
5. Is there Sweet Tea?
6. Finally, do they have Outback Steakhouse's, or is it just called Steakhouse?

Lived here my whole life and been to America once, just letting you know alcohol will cost you out here mate, internet is slower than old people fucking and food will cost you. Apart from that though there are so great things to go do and see, Melbourne has a great atmosphere, Brisbane great beaches, Sydney great bars and night life, Hobart is inbreed but all of Tas is amazing and well Darwin/Perth/Adelaide are what a lot of these comps are based off of.

Depends where you're going, really
Aside from some manmade stuff, the only things worth seeing just for the sight are uluru and the great barrier reef
There are some nice beaches, some good restaurants, as well as places that aren't desert
again, depends where you're going
