well the there is a lot of agreement between the double meanings and modern science. the idea of the singularity before the big bang has been in rabbenical teaching for thousands of years. most of this is looking at the dynamics of the words and the double meanings. another example is that in the mishna (a part of the talmud) there is kind of a side comment from a rabbi that basicly said that there was a pre-adamic race of humanoid animals that were not really human but close. in what is called the "new testament" if you get down to the greek and not the biased translation of the "church" then you can clearly see that Yashua (also known as Jesus) was settling a dispute between two schools of thought at the time which was one of the things that the massiah was prophesied to do.

translatons are not all. to understand the words you have to go to the hebrew. the first letter makes it able to be translated "in the beginning" "with a beginning" "in a beginning" etc. most words have a meaning that is used for common speach but have a deeper meaning. ex: "shalom" means "peace" but the real meaning is "to be utterly complete''. the torah makes a lot more sense when you speak and read hebrew since there is no difference between any kosher scroll in the world and you dont have to screw around with translation.

I'm merely saying that Classical/Biblical Hebrew and the Bible (as a historical book, not the word of god) are contemporary, so instead of the double meaning being implied on purpose, it's possible the double meaning came about because of that word's use in the Genesis story.
