well, some of us are tired at work and only glance over things like this and don't get them as fast.
Not only that, but the artist himself took down the last three panels in the comic to let readers figure it out themselves.
I heard it in the reverse. Too many people couldn't figure out the joke so he had to add the last three panels.

i once found a 3TB hard drive online from a reliable source for £70. that's a little more than $100 USD. the value of internal pc storage is usually £1 for every 10GB (so 3TB being 3072GB, it should cost £307.20p). the value of a removable USB device capable of storing data is normally valued at £1 per GB, if you can save up, it's cheaper to get an overpriced internal harddrive than it is to get a USB device

it also might be referring to strictly 1 gb storage mediums, as price increases with storage density.
